Black Mirror Sets Star-Studded Season 7 Cast For Netflix Sci-Fi Series

By Britta DeVore | Published

It’s been a little over one year since Netflix dropped the sixth season of its hit sci-fi thriller series, Black Mirror, and we finally have an idea of who will be joining the cast for Season 7. As per usual, the next batch of episodes will involve a solid lineup of very familiar faces from television and film including Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Emma Corrin (Deadpool & Wolverine), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), and more.

Eve More Big Names, Inlcuding A Previous Doctor

The stars have aligned – literally – for Black Mirror Season 7, with the network dropping a lengthy list of names that, along with the above, also feature Milanka Brooks (Mum And I Don’t Talk Anymore), Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who), Patsy Ferran (Firebrand), Lewis Gribben (Blade Runner 2099), Osy Ikhile (Citadel), Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation), Siena Kelly (Domino Day), Billy Magnussen (Road House), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Chris O’Dowd (The Big Door Prize), Issa Rae (Barbie), Paul G. Raymond (Horrible Histories), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld), and Harriet Walter (Succession).

Little Is Known

Phew. The lengthy call sheet for Black Mirror Season 7 might just be the most star-packed over its long run on the streamer. While we know who to expect popping in and out of the likely tense episodes, plot details for almost every installment are still under wraps. We also don’t know who will pair up with whom in the episodes to bring top-notch actors face-to-face for what we’re already expecting to be some magnificent scene work.

More Of The USS Callister In Season 7

Right now, the only episode of Black Mirror Season 7 that we have any clues about is the next chapter of the Emmy Award-winning Season 4 episode, “USS Callister.” Jesse Plemons (Civil War) stars in the story as Daly, who, as the co-founder of a beloved online game, is ticked off that his coworkers don’t recognize his genius for what he thinks it is.

Using his intelligence with a dash of vitriol towards his peers, Daly ends up making digital clones with their DNA in what turns out to be disastrous for everyone involved.

Although it isn’t clear in what direction Black Mirror Season 7 will take the next part of USS Callister’s story, the fact that Cristin Milioti was in the original installment and is on the massive call sheet for the upcoming season should serve as some sort of clue. The end of the episode left Daly dead, but others aboard the titular spaceship were still trapped inside, with more terrifying adventures likely awaiting them in the upcoming season.

A Netflix Hit For More Than A Decade

Miley Cyrus

One thing we know for sure and that’s that when the time eventually comes, audiences will be more than ready for Black Mirror Season 7. The Charlie Brooker-created series has been celebrated by audiences and critics alike since its unforgettable debut episode back in 2011. In the years since the show has only continued to grow in popularity, landing an overall Certified Fresh score of 83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Always Attracts The Big Talent

While the stories may change, there’s one thing about Netflix’s Black Mirror Season 7 that will be the same as the ones that came before it – a stacked lineup of talent. With names like Paul Giamatti and Emma Corrin connected to the upcoming season, it’s set to stay on par with those in the past that featured Josh Hartnett, Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard, Pom Klementieff, and more.
