Bill Cosby Is Making A Massive And Unbelievable Comeback
Despite just being released from prison, Bill Cosby is set to head out on a comedy tour in 2023.
In arguably one of the most shocking moves, Bill Cosby plans to tour in 2023. The once-famed comedian had been charged with sexual assault in 2018, and spent the better part of three years in prison for his crimes, getting out last year. During an interview on WGH Talk with Scott Spears, Cosby stated, “When I come out of this, I feel that I will be able to perform and be the Bill Cosby that my audience knows me to be.”
Bill Cosby answered “Yes” to touring on the radio show with Spears, and he added, “Yes, because there’s so much fun to be had in this storytelling that I do. Years ago, maybe 10 years ago, I found it was better to say it after I write it.”
We are not sure how and why a comeback would be considered a good idea by Bill Cosby’s team, as he is also currently being accused of sexual assault by another five women, as they stated Cosby either raped them or forced them into sexual acts in the 1980s and 1990s. One of the accusers is also Cindra Ladd, a former Hollywood executive, who claims Cosby raped her in 1969. All the women are suing under a New York state law that bypasses the statute of limitations, allowing these older sexual assaults to be recognized in court.
The new allegations have been denied by Bill Cosby’s representative, Andrew Wyatt, who also claims these allegations are false and come from five women who belong to the “parade of accusers” that came forward between 2014 and 2016. Wyatt also confirmed that Cosby is planning a tour in the spring and summer months of next year. Apparently, Cosby’s representative also thinks that this touring idea is going to be good for his public image.
Bill Cosby has seen his reputation shattered by the sexual assault charges he was convicted of, which he just spent three years in prison for. We would imagine there are going to be plenty of people upset at the idea that the comedian plans to hit the stage and speak about the conviction in any way that is a joke. Cosby is also 85 years old, and his humor might not be what anyone wants to hear currently.
However, for all we know, there could still be a legion of Bill Cosby fans out there who support him no matter what, and ticket sales will further prove that point. Once this proposed tour goes on sale, we will all have to wait and see what people are going to do in terms of wanting to go see him explain himself live. There could be people buying tickets just to see the man crash and burn, or they could be buying tickets as legitimate fans wanting to support him.
Whatever happens, it appears that Bill Cosby is not allowing multiple sexual assault charges to deter his legacy, though his legacy might be destroyed already. For those who are still fans of his work, you can wait to see when these comedy tour tickets go on sale sometime in the next couple of months. This is certainly a strange world we are living in right now, and it could be that Cosby might just want to cash in on his controversy by going back on tour.
