The Biggest Child Star Is Taking His Best Movie On Tour
Macaulay Culkin went on to have a very interesting film career, but it’s fair to say that he is still best known for Home Alone, the classic John Hughes-written film in which a young boy is mistakenly left home over the holidays and must defend his home from bumbling burglars. Culkin spent a period of time trying to distance himself from the movie which made him a household name. That’s now over in a big way, though: he recently revealed he would be taking the movie on tour with Home Alone: A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin where he screens the film and then takes audience questions.
Just In Time For The Holidays
Macaulay Culkin revealed this awesome news about Home Alone recently on the Today show. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, don’t worry: you have plenty of time to prepare. The tour won’t kick off until November 30 and will continue through December 15.
Obviously, the timing of the tour is not a coincidence. Home Alone is the definitive holiday movie due to its explicit Christmas setting, and many fans watch it every year in December as part of an annual ritual. Now, Home Alone: A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin offers those same fans to take their love of this film to the next level by getting to interact with the movie’s biggest star.
An All-Access Experience
Are you perhaps even more of a fan of Macaulay Culkin than you are of Home Alone and you’d like to get up close and personal with the star? The tour also offers a VIP ticket that allows you to get a photo with Culkin after the show. Considering that the star isn’t known for making the convention circuit of various Comic-Con events, this might be your best chance to get such a photo from the often-reclusive star.
You Might Have To Make Travel Arrangements
Where, though, will Home Alone: A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin actually be touring? While you can find a full list of locations on the tour’s official website, the tour seems to mostly focus on areas of the Northeast and Midwest, including Buffalo, New York, Indianapolis, Indiana, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Newark, New Jersey. Fans who don’t necessarily live in those areas have ample time now to begin making travel plans.
Taking A Page From The Shatner Playbook?
We can only guess at Macaulay Culkin’s motivation for conducting this Home Alone tour, but he is in good company. Star Trek icon William Shatner is currently conducting a similar tour in which fans can attend a screening of The Wrath of Khan, have a Q&A with the star, and (for VIP ticket holders, at least) get a photo. It’s possible that Culkin realized what Shatner did … there are countless fans happy to fork over a few bucks to do something they would have been doing anyway: watching their favorite films and geeking out over the stars.
Experience Home Alone Like Never Before
Obviously, Macaulay Culkin has starred in plenty of films (we’re partial to Uncle Buck ourselves), Home Alone remains his biggest and, to many fans, his best. This tour may be the best way for fans to experience the movie as they never have before while getting additional insight from its star. If any of you go, please do us a favor and ask him about what inspired his delivery of “Buzz, your girlfriend … WOOF,” which might be the funniest line in cinematic history.
