Best Jamie Foxx Movies To Stream On Netflix Right Now
Jamie Foxx is a well-respected actor, comedian, and singer whose talents have won him an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the film Ray. The prolific Foxx has also won a Grammy Award for his single “Blame It.” As a comedian, Foxx is best known for his time on the sketch hit comedy show, In Living Color.
Lately, Jamie Foxx has been recuperating from a mysterious, yet very serious, health scare that some, including ex-boxer Mike Tyson, believe to have been a stroke.
Foxx and his daughter Corinne had been filming the musical game show Beat Shazam and had to be replaced by Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne while Foxx recovered. He also was near completion of Back in Action, a film that brought Cameron Diaz out of retirement and one sending her right back into retirement.
Jamie Foxx recently signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment to develop and produce movies. A few of his projects were Netflix features that are still available on the streamer, with one of them ready to be released this summer. Let’s take a look at these films that can be found on Netflix.
Jamie Foxx On Netflix
Project Power (2020)
Project Power is a science fiction action film that stars Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Dominique Fishback. Set in near-future New Orleans, Project Power tells the story of a drug called “Power.” Taking this drug grants the person a random superpower for five minutes.
Foxx stars as Art, a former U.S. Army major who was one of the initial test subjects of the drug. He has the ability to fire off powerful heat waves. Gordon-Levitt is Frank Shaver, a New Orleans detective who teams up with Art to stop the illegal distribution of Power.
Fishback is Robin, a street Power drug dealer and aspiring rapper who finds herself in a lot of trouble because of her dealing the drug.
The story is a great new take on the superhero genre, offering plenty of action and suspense. Although taking the drug grants the user a superpower, it doesn’t make them invincible. For instance, Frank’s superpower is that his skin hardens, much like an armadillo’s skin, but it doesn’t make him invincible, though it does limit the damage his body can take.
Colson Baker (whom many know by his stage name of Machine Gun Kelly) appears as Robin’s cousin Newt and has the ability to generate fire from his body. Although his body can generate heat, it also only had limited resistance to fire, so if he overuses his power, he ends up with serious burns.
Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman handle the directing duties for the Jamie Foxx-led film. The duo previously worked together on films like Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 4. Mattson Tomlin handled the script duties for Project Power.

Day Shift (2022)
Day Shift is a Netflix horror comedy film starring Jamie Foxx as Bud Jablonski, a blue-collar dad whose day job as a pool cleaner is a front for what he really does to make his money – he hunts down and kills vampires.
The film is set in present-day Los Angeles where, apparently, vampires are a fairly common occurrence, and hunting them down, killing them, then collecting their fangs can bring in some serious money, which is exactly what Bud needs.
Bud’s ex-wife Jocelyn (Meagan Good) is planning to move their daughter to Florida and enroll her in a private high school with expensive tuition fees. In order to pay the tuition, Bud needs to make a killing by bringing in vampire teeth. In order to do this, he must try to return to the vampire hunting union, one that has kicked Bud out for his numerous code violations.
Bud enlists “Big” John Elliot (Snoop Dogg), an old Army buddy and veteran vampire hunter to help him get back into the union. Begrudgingly, the union president allows him back but under strict conditions, ones that Bud is going to find hard to follow. Dave Franco is on board as Bud’s “supervisor” and vampire-hunting partner.
What neither of the three yet know is that while they are out hunting vampire for their teeth, a female vampire, Audrey (Karla Souza) with aspirations of building a vampire army, is on their trail hunting them.
J. J. Perry sits in the director’s chair for Jamie Foxx’s Day Shift. He got his directorial debut from a script written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten.
