Vermont authorities say more items from the East Corinth set of Beetlejuice 2 have been stolen, WCAX3 reports. According to local police, six windows from the deconstructed Beetlejuice house, which were going to be donated to the Northeast Slopes, were taken from their temporary storage space at the local community ski area.

This recent theft adds to a list of other stolen items from the Beetlejuice 2 set earlier this month. On July 14, movie security guards reported that an individual in a pickup truck took a large lamppost with a distinctive pumpkin decoration. Additionally, between July 13 and 17, a 150-pound abstract art statue from the vicinity of the cemetery also disappeared.

The individuals responsible for the theft arrived at the lamppost location in an older-model GMC pickup truck shortly after midnight on July 14. They proceeded to dismantle the base of the Beetlejuice 2 statue and loaded it onto the vehicle. Three days later, the thieves returned to steal the statue itself. No arrests have been made in connection with these incidents.

Beetlejuice 2 has been in development for several years, but proper progress on the project only began in 2023. Michael Keaton, who reprises his role as the titular character in the film, said he’s been discussing the sequel with director Tim Burton for years. At the time, the pair decided for the follow-up to be successful, it had to capture the essence of the original movie.

Michael Keaton, who reprises his role as the titular character in the film, said he’s been discussing the sequel with director Tim Burton for years.

Speaking to Empire, Keaton said they have managed to achieve just that with Beetlejuice 2. “Tim and I were talking about it years and years ago [and] we both agreed, if it happens, it has to be done as close to the way we made it the first time,” he told the publication. “Making stuff up, making stuff happen, improvising and riffing.”

“It’s the most fun I’ve had working on a movie in I can’t tell you how long,” Keaton added. The actor’s portrayal of Beetlejuice is widely regarded as one of his most epic performances. His energetic and unpredictable portrayal of the character made him hilariously entertaining and eerily disturbing. So it’s not surprising that the role wasn’t recast for Beetlejuice 2.

Along with the Batman actor, Catherine O’Hara, and Winona Ryder will also be reprising their roles from the 1988 film. While the plot of Beetlejuice 2 is currently under wraps, the lineup of new talent to the franchise brings a world of exciting story possibilities.

Jenna Ortega, who recently earned praise for her role in Netflix’s Wednesday, has been cast as Lydia’s daughter, though the character’s name remains unknown. Willem Dafoe joins Beetlejuice 2 as a law enforcement officer in the afterlife, with Monica Bellucci taking on the role of Betelgeuse’s wife. Tim Burton returns as director, working from a script by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

The film’s score will once again be composed by Danny Elfman, who worked on the original movie. Colleen Atwood, a frequent collaborator of Burton, will be handling the costume design. Beetlejuice 2 is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on September 6, 2024.

Fans were treated to their first glimpse of Jenna Ortega on the set of Beetlejuice 2 in Hertfordshire, England, earlier this month. The image featured the young actress wearing a beautiful wedding gown with delicate pink undertones. She was captured alongside her on-screen mother, Winona Ryder, who returns as Lydia Deetz in the sequel.
