Amazon And Mr. Beast Sued Over Horrific Allegations During Beast Games
The MrBeast brand name and the content creator himself have taken a massive hit of late, with numerous allegations coming out related to his company and those working there as well. It looks like more will now be added to the list. Variety is reporting that a new class-action lawsuit has been brought against both MrBeast and Amazon on behalf of contests who took part in Beast Games.
Beast Games Lawsuit
According to the lawsuit filing, five unnamed Beast Games contestants are claiming “chronic mistreatment”, sexual harassment and more on the set of the reality competition.
They are saying that MrBeast and his company (including Amazon) didn’t pay fair wages, failed to stop sexual harassment on set, set up an environment that contributed to emotional distress, didn’t allow enough breaks, and put everyone in dangerous situations.
These Beast Games allegations had come to light previously, but now the lawsuit puts the ink to paper.
Declining To Comment
MrBeast’s camp has apparently declined to comment on the class-action lawsuit and Amazon didn’t offer any comment either. The allegations don’t paint a pretty picture of what might have been happening on the set of Beast Games though time will tell of there was validity to these claims.
Reality competitions have been at the center of these lawsuits before with the premise of the game itself leading to less-than-ideal conditions for contestants.
Intense Reality Competition
MrBeast and Amazon’s Beast Games is set up as a reality competition with a winner-take-all $5 million cash prize. There were extreme challenges involved, in line with MrBeast’s own YouTube brand that often put folks (contestants) into crazy spots and/or predicaments with the promise of a large cash prize if they stuck it out.
With such a massive prize on the line, one can imagine the Beast Games intensity is dialed up here, and anyone who has seen MrBeast’s videos knows that there is considerable envelope-pushing with these stunts.
MrBeast’s Other Issues
The lawyers will likely fight over where reality show intrigue and actual unsafe working/ living conditions overlap at this point.
However, the allegations against Beast Games, MrBeast, and Amazon could highlight an environment that was pushing the boundaries of acceptability within the reality series framework. In all, it doesn’t sound great.
These claims against MrBeast come after allegations against collaborator Ava Kris Tyson went public in recent weeks. The latter was accused of sexual misconduct with minors, and subsequently let go by the YouTube channel company.
A Social Media And YouTube Sensation
It remains to be seen what comes of these recent allegations levied against MrBeast and Amazon, but there’s no doubt the YouTube and social media star has taken a reputational hit in the short-term.
This is from a brand that has amassed more than 300 million YouTube subscribers and an entire media (and now food) empire on the back of MrBeast himself. Feastables, his lunch snack company has also taken some hits of late regarding the nutritional value (among other things).
We will no doubt hear more specifics about these Beast Games MrBeast allegations and have to wonder about whether we will even see Amazon’s Beast Games hit the streamer in light of this news. It was originally thought to debut later in 2024.
