Sci-Fi Author Calls Silo Season 2 One Of The Best Things Ever
Silo is one of the best sci-fi shows in recent memory, and fans are more than ready for Season 2. While the second season certainly has a lot to live up to, the author of the novels the show is based on recently assured fans it will be worth the wait. Hugh Howey posted about the season, saying, “I’ve seen season two and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen.”
Silo Author Is Happy With Season 2
Silo takes place in a dystopian future where humanity lives in a vast underground silo. The first season was met with critical acclaim and ended on quite the cliffhanger, and the wait for Silo Season 2 has definitely been difficult. So, it’s nice to know that the author of the series is confident that the second season will apparently be even better than the first.
Four Seasons Planned
Hugh Howey is the author of the entire Silo novel series, known as the Wool series, and showrunner Graham Yost has apparently turned those three books into four seasons of TV. Star of Silo Rebecca Ferguson has previously talked about the show having a set ending, saying, “Season 2 is shot and coming out, and we’re now looking at green-lighting Seasons 3 and 4, adding, “And I think we would film them maybe together, and that would be the end.” With the popularity and acclaim of the show, it seems likely that Apple TV+ would make sure that the show gets to tell the rest of the story.
What If Season 2 Doesn’t Hit With Fans?
Of course, Silo would be in danger if Season 2 didn’t deliver and the viewers fell off. Streaming services often aren’t hesitant to cancel something if it’s not meeting expectations, so the fact that Hugh Howey says that the second season is one of the best things he’s seen means we can hopefully expect at least one more season. And if Rebecca Ferguson is right about them shooting the third and fourth season back-to-back, then we might be able to see this one all the way through.
Season 2
Although Silo Season 2 hasn’t made any casting announcements yet, we should likely expect quite a few players from the first season to return. Along with Rebecca Ferguson, the first season cast included Rashida Jones, David Oyelowo, Common, Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Avi Nash, Rick Gomez, and Chinaza Uche. At the moment, we also know that Michael Dinner and Amber Templemore are on board to direct some episodes of the second season, with Templemore set to direct four, including the season finale.
No Release Date
Silo is an incredible sci-fi and one well worth checking out if you haven’t already, especially since we know we won’t be left on a cliffhanger, thanks to Season 2 coming out soon. Unfortunately, we don’t really know how soon it will be. As of now, the second season hasn’t announced a release date yet.
Hopefully, Apple will fill us in on a release date for SIlo Season 2 sooner rather than later. In the meantime, make sure to check out Season 1 on Apple TV. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated on the latest Silo news.
