Aubrey Plaza may have bombed movie auditions in the past and freaked out A-list stars like Robert De Niro while attempting to get into character, but none of those hiccups seem to be slowing her down. According to Deadline, the Safety Not Guaranteed actress, Aubrey Plaza herself, has been cast in the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The forthcoming show is a spin-off of the hit series WandaVision and will be centered around Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness.

It is currently unknown what role Aubrey Plaza will play in the Agatha Disney+ series, but she joins previously announced cast members Kathryn Hahn, Emma Caulfield, and Joe Locke. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but we know the series will heavily feature Agatha Harkness, who was a prominent character in WandaVision. The upcoming show is set to premiere sometime in 2023.

Deadline has reported that the Disney+ series, in which Aubrey Plaza appears, will begin shooting next month before beginning production in January 2022 through the summer season in Atlanta. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is being penned by WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer, who also serves as executive producer. Schaeffer is also reportedly developing another WandaVision spin-off centering around Paul Bettany’s Vision, who appeared in multiple MCU features.

Although Aubrey Plaza will make her MCU debut in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Emma Caulfield will be reprising her role as Dottie from WandaVision. She portrayed one of the innocent individuals who was trapped inside Wanda’s sitcom spell. While under the influence of Wanda’s magic, Dottie played the role of the neighborhood’s leader.

In addition to Aubrey Plaza appearing in the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the actress has several other projects in the pipeline. She is set to star in the upcoming television series Olga Dies Dreaming, which follows a Niyorican brother and sister, and their careers among New York City’s elite in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Annie Hagg, Alan Starzinkski, Jesse Williams, Wanda De Jesus, Sarah Buxoton, and Jessica Pimentel are also set to star in the project.

Aubrey Plaza has also been tapped to star in the hotly anticipated Francis Ford Coppola feature Megalopolis, which centers around an architect who wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia following a devastating disaster. The film, which is nothing like Agatha: Coven of Chaos in any way, shape, or form, stars Shia LaBeouf, Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Dustin Hoffman, and Forrest Whitaker. The forthcoming drama is being helmed by Franchise Ford Coppola from a script he wrote.

Aubrey Plaza, in addition to Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Megalopolis, is set to star in the animated feature The Ark and the Aardvark. The actress will voice the character of Brain in the forthcoming John Stevenson-directed picture that was scribed by Glen Dolman. Miles Teller, Stephen Merchant, Jenny Slate, Craig Robison, Rob Riggle, Keenon Douglas, and Johnny Kroll are also set to lend their voices to the film, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters April 30th, 2024.
