Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Now Netflix’s Chief Action Officer
Arnold Schwarzenegger is Netflix's new Chief Action Officer.
No one knows action like The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger and, in a new promo video that you can see below, Netflix is upgrading the movie star from actor to Chief Action Officer. Promoting and celebrating all things explosions and sword fights, the clip sees Schwarzenegger promising that things will only get bigger from here as he’s joined by some familiar faces from his upcoming project, FUBAR. Walking viewers through titles like Extraction 2 and The Witcher, the streamer’s new Chief Action Officer has his hands full with the best of the best when it comes to the pulse-pounding genre.
“I’m back baby,” Arnold Schwarzenegger declares halfway through the video during a segment spotlighting the arrival of his Netflix series, FUBAR. Up until this point, the True Lies star and former Governator is spotted running a tank over cars, slicing his lunch in half with a sword, and demanding bigger and better explosions. With moments like telling Chris Hemsworth to go harder in a teaser for Extraction 2, the plug is filled with standout moments from the Twins actor.
By the end of the spot, Arnold Schwarzenegger is presenting audiences with all the edge-of-your-seat titles that have either been recently put out or that will soon be coming to a Netflix and chill night near you. Of those that have dropped on the platform, we see clips of The Night Agent and The Mother. Packing the summer with a lineup of blockbusters for at-home viewing, we also catch moments of the aforementioned Extraction 2, Season 3 of The Witcher, Heart of Stone, The Brothers Sun, and, Lift.
Already a larger-than-life name in the world of action features, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be making his series debut in Netflix’s spy action-comedy FUBAR. Crashing onto the streamer on May 25, the series will introduce audiences to Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) and his daughter, Emma (Monica Barbaro). Members of a tightly-knit family, the pair have been hiding a secret from one another for many years – they’re both CIA operatives. The truth slaps them in the face as they’re assigned to the same mission – a journey that will help them reconnect while taking down their target.
Along with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro, Netflix’s latest action-packed feature also stars Jay Baruchel, Andy Buckley, Fortune Feimster, Aparna Brielle, Milan Carter, Gabriel Luna, Travis Van Winkle, and Fabiana Udenio. Created by The Sopranos writer Nick Santora, who also holds credits on productions including The Guardian, Prison Break, and Lie to Me, everything we’ve found out about the series points to an action-driven joyride.
No stranger to the genre, Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the biggest stars of our time, up there with other heavy hitters, including Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis. Having solidified his name in flicks like Hercules in New York and the Conan franchise, it was 1984’s The Terminator which would lead Schwarzenegger to a celebrated career in bringing the biggest and craziest explosions and storylines to audiences around the world.
While Arnold Schwarzenegger may be teaming up with Netflix in the genre that he’s most known for, we’d love to see him shine in other projects that would be more akin to his standout performances in films like Kindergarten Cop, Twins, Junior, Jingle All the Way, and even maybe a series reprisal of Mr. Freeze from Batman & Robin.
