Arnold Schwarzenegger Reveals Embarrassing Prank Danny DeVito Pulled On Set
Arnold says Danny DeVito got him good!

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito are best known as a duo in their comedy Twins, but they have a lesser-known comedy together called Junior. Though Junior wasn’t quite as fondly remembered, Schwarzenegger certainly remembers one particularly hilarious prank that DeVito pulled on him while they were working on the movie.
In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Arnold Schwarzenegger talked about how DeVito loved to prank him on set, with one prank being especially embarrassing for Schwarzenegger. As he recalls, DeVito offered to make him some Italian food in his trailer, and then after dinner, he offered him a nice cigar. Being a cigar aficionado Schwarzenegger obviously accepted the seemingly innocent offering. What he didn’t know was that the cigar actually had a bit of marijuana in it. Hilariously, when it came time to get back on set and read his lines, he couldn’t recall a thing and had to go speak to the script supervisor to get back on track. While that was probably a bit inconvenient for Schwarzenegger, it seems likely the rest of the cast and crew, especially Danny Devito, probably got a kick out of it.
The reason Schwarzenegger was fondly (?) recalling these antics is that there’s actually an upcoming sequel to Twins that will see the two co-stars reunite. The new movie is called Triplets and will feature Eddie Murphy. If you haven’t seen Twins, it’s a comedy where Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character finds out he has a twin brother who, well if you know DeVito and Schwarzenegger you can already understand the visual gag. Another unlikely brother enters the scenario with Triplets considering, well again, Eddie Murphy, DeVito, and Schwarzenegger don’t all quite look alike.
Triplets would not only see Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger reunite, but it would also reunite them with their original director for Twins and Junior, Ivan Reitman. Sadly, Reitman just passed away over the weekend. Ivan Reitman was an absolute legend in the industry, directing movies like Ghostbusters, Stripes, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, and producing movies like National Lampoon’s Animal House. Reitman certainly shaped a prominent era of comedy in Hollywood. His presence will surely be missed on the set, and it’s sad that they won’t be able to finish the movie without his guidance. Still, we’re sure Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito, and Eddie Murphy will bring all the comedic chops they have to the film and make a comedy Reitman would be proud of.
In addition to his talk show appearances and the upcoming Triplets, Arnold Schwarzenegger has some other exciting projects in the works for us to look forward to. Before Triplets, we should see Kung Fury 2 sometime in 2022. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a character known as The President. The movie also stars Michael Fassbender, Alexandra Shipp, David Hasselhoff, Jorma Taccone, and David Sandberg, who also writes and directs. The Legend of Conan was also recently announced, where Arnie will be playing the titular role of Conan, a character that he’ll be quite familiar with inhabiting. As for Triplets, the movie has yet to announce a release date, so you’ll have to wait a bit to see Arnold Schwarzenegger return to this role.
