Ana de Armas No Time to Die

After making the biggest film of all-time with Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo released the far smaller Cherry earlier this year with Spider-Man star Tom Holland. But now, it looks as though the Russo brothers are back making major action films with The Gray Man, which is reportedly the biggest-budget film in the history of Netflix, and will star Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas. On her Instagram page, Ana de Armas recently shared an image of her gun training for the new film and the actress looks like she’ll be a formidable foe in  The Gray Man.

The Gray Man is an action thriller that centers around Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), a former CIA operative who is being hunted around the world by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans). Ana de Armas joined the film late last year, but it looks as though preparation for Netflix’s big film is already underway.

The Gray Man was the debut novel by author Mark Greaney, which started the Gray Man book series. It seems extremely likely that if this film goes well, Netflix is planning on turning Greaney’s series into their own film series. After the success of films like Extraction and Spenser Confidential, it looks as though Netflix wants to capitalize on the action genre in a major way. The studio already has Red Notice coming later this year, which also stars Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot. With this film, and Netflix attaching Ana de Armas, Ryan Gosling, and Chris Evans to this new project, it seems like Netflix is well on its way to becoming an action movie powerhouse.

Ever since her Golden Globe-nominated turn in 2019’s Knives Out, Ana de Armas has become one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. Already, Ana de Armas has several big projects coming out in 2021. Currently in post-production is Deep Water, in which the actress stars alongside Ben Affleck, Tracy Letts, Lil Rel Howery, and Finn Wittrock. Ana de Armas has also wrapped filming on Blonde, in which she will play a fictionalized version of Marilyn Monroe. Blonde is also planned to be released on Netflix.

But of course, Ana de Armas’ biggest role is in the oft-delayed No Time to Die, the 25th installment in the James Bond franchise, and the last film in the series to star Daniel Craig. No Time to Die was originally scheduled for release on November 2019, but was delayed after Danny Boyle left the project. Then, the film shifted to a March 4, 2020 release, before it was postponed to November 12, 2020. As of right now, No Time to Die is planned for release on October 8, 2021.

Yet between No Time to Die and The Gray Man, Ana de Armas looks like she’s on her way to becoming a major action star. Her ability to reload her guns quickly in the aforementioned video is impressive, and Ana de Armas’ involvement, along with the Russos, Chris Evans, and Ryan Gosling, certainly makes it one of the most anticipated action films coming soon.
