Amber Heard Scenes Being Cut From Aquaman 2?
While it looks as though gossip about Amber Heard getting fired from Aquaman 2 has been debunked, it looks as though many of her scenes might get cut.

Amber Heard’s involvement with the upcoming Aquaman 2 might be one of the most rumored-about topics in entertainment. There are some rumors that say that Amber Heard’s Mera will have a larger part going forward in the DC film universe, while there have also been rumors that Heard has been fired from Aquaman 2. While it seems as though the rumors that Heard has been fired have been debunked, a new rumor suggests that many of Amber Heard’s scenes in Aquaman 2 are getting cut.
This latest piece of gossip comes from Small Screen, who says they have “sources with close ties to Warner Bros. Pictures” who are saying that many of Amber Heard’s scenes are being cut, and that she could still be removed from the film. Earlier in the article, Small Screen confirms the news that Amber Heard’s team said they deny that Amber Heard is no longer attached to Aquaman 2.
Many of these rumors about Amber Heard seem to originate from one of two places. The first seems to be wishful thinking from those who have taken Johnny Depp’s side after the court cases between Amber Heard and Depp. The other seems to be people putting too much importance on a Forbes article, which was seemingly incorrect when it stated that Emilia Clarke would be replacing Heard in Aquaman 2.
With Amber Heard and Johnny Depp still expected to have more days in court in the future, with more details about their relationship likely coming to light, it’s possible that Warner Bros. is making a backup plan, just in case. It’s entirely possible that Warner Bros. is testing out how much of Amber Heard they could cut if they actually need to do so, but with no current plans to cut her.
Yet if the last year of Warner Bros. has taught us anything, it’s that any casting changes the company has made quickly become known to the public. When Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s previous court case ended with Depp being asked to quit the Fantastic Beasts franchise, Warner Bros. was upfront about this change, even saying soon after that Mads Mikkelsen had taken his place as Grindelwald. Similarly, it wasn’t soon after Ray Fisher stepped down from playing Cyborg in future DC films that it was made known that he would be leaving the part. If Amber Heard was being cut from Aquaman 2, it seems like it would be news that would be verified by either Warner Bros. or Amber Heard’s team.
But when it comes to rumors about Amber Heard – specifically when it comes to her involvement in Aquaman 2 – it seems the safest bet is just to wait and see if there are any confirmations from either Heard or Warner Bros. As of right now, Aquaman 2 hasn’t even begun filming yet, but plans to start filming this year. If Heard is out, Warner Bros. will almost certainly let audiences know about this change before filming begins. Regardless, we will probably have to wait until Aquaman 2 comes out on December 16, 2022 to know how much of Amber Heard’s Mera that we are going to get in this sequel.
