See Alison Brie Walk The Red Carpet In A Sexy Black Dress And Nylons
Alison Brie looks refined in a black dress on the red carpet.
In order to properly celebrate the release of their brand new film Somebody I Used To Know, Alison Brie and her husband, David Franco, hit the red carpet in style. The film is a streaming original for Amazon Prime Video, but the Alamo Drafthouse Chicago hosted a screening to celebrate the couple’s accomplishment. Brie stars in the film though she also co-wrote it with Franco, and the 21 Jump Street star directed the romantic comedy.
Alison Brie has been in fantastic shape ever since she starred on Netflix’s hit series GLOW which makes it a shame that her black dress covers the well-earned muscles. The nylons and the smallest tease of a cutout make it an incredibly classy ensemble worthy of the power couple’s celebration. For his part, Dave Franco is incredibly handsome in a matching jacket, the exact opposite of his usually disheveled and stoned characters.
Somebody I Used To Know stars Alison Brie as Ally, a workaholic that reunites with her old boyfriend Sean (Jay Ellies) and a younger woman, Cassidy (Kiersey Clemons) that makes her question all of her life’s choices and reminisce on the fun-loving girl she used to be. Hanging out with Sean and Cassidy stirs up feelings for both of them within Ally which in true rom-com fashion is then taken a bit too far. The film also stars Brie’s Community co-star, Danny Pudi, Haley Joel Osment, and Amy Sedaris.
The film is the second directed by David Franco, and also the second he wrote that stars Alison Brie following 2020’s The Rental. A horror film released during the height of Covid-restrictions impacting theaters, The Rental managed to be the number one film at the box office and video-on-demand during its first weekend. With a 74% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the film was a success and there’s been some talks of a sequel in the future.
For their second effort together, Alison Brie and David Franco were inspired by the rom-coms of the ’80s and 90s, which was a golden age for the genre. Just a few of the greatest films of that era include Romancing the Stone, Pretty Woman, The Wedding Singer, When Harry Met Sally, and Say Anything. With a successful horror film, and what looks like a hit romantic comedy under their belts, the screenwriting couple can next tackle a buddy cop comedy or a disaster film and start working their way through even more genres.
Alison Brie has an upcoming project set to begin filming this summer that will fulfill the prophecy of “six seasons and a movie.” Brie will be reprising her role as Annie in the long-awaited Community movie which reunites most of the cast from the classic comedy. Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole-Brown, and Chevy Chase have not confirmed if they will be returning for the film.
Until then, Somebody I Used To Know will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video starting February 10th.
