New Alien Movie Confirmed From Evil Dead Director

When aliens pay a small visit to planet Earth, it is definitely a life changing and monumental moment. The Alien franchise was a very successful one, with the first film released back in 1979. Fans of the franchise don’t have to wait long or another film to be added. A new Alien movie has been confirmed and the names attached to the new standalone feature film will make the project absolutely incredible. Filmmaker Fede Alvarez, who has directed previous films like the 2013 remake of Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, will be the writer and director of the upcoming Alien.
The entertainment industry isn’t alive unless we have aliens appearing on our screens. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is set to premiere on Hulu and the movie is supposed to have no connections to the previous films in the Alien franchise. It will definitely be interesting to see a unique spin on the narrative. Although the film won’t have too many connections in regards to plot from previous installments, that doesn’t mean names from past Alien films won’t be involved. According to Variety, the original director from the 1979 film, Ridley Scott, is set to produce.
The film is set to be made under 20th Century Studios, according to Deadline. Fede Alvarez must be feeling rather excited to be able to take a large step in his career and have such a huge role in creating a new film in the Alien franchise. There have been a total of nine installments in the franchise. According to THR, Alvarez has always been a big fan of the franchise and even discussed creating another Alien film with Ridley Scott a couple years ago. That is definitely some sincere devotion. Alvarez also pitched to 20th Century Studios, and after the pitch, the studio immediately agreed to take on the project.
“It was just a really good story with a bunch of characters you haven’t seen before,” stated Steve Asbell, the studio’s division president, according to THR. With a new set of characters and a unique storyline, the new Alien film is set to be a hit. Fede Alvarez has been on multiple projects before that have showcased his talent and ability to create amazing stories on the screen. Alvarez directed the fan-favorite Don’t Breathe. The film centered around a group of thieves that broke into a rich, blind man’s home, assuming it would be simple to steal his money. However, the group soon realized their huge mistak. The film garnered success, and both the talent and director, Fede Alvarez, were recognized.
The new Alien movie doesn’t have a set release date just yet, but more news and information will be released as time goes on. For a different take from the films and series already in the Alien franchise, hopefully the movie will premiere sometime soon on the popular streaming platform Hulu. And with Fede Alvarez lined up to create the film mixed with his passion for the franchise, we definitely have an amazing film in store for us.
