Alien Invasion Supernatural Fantasy Anime Perfectly Placed For October
One spooky supernatural anime has been highly anticipated since it was first announced. Featuring a mix of ghosts and aliens, Dandadan is a story about two high schoolers getting into more trouble than they expected when they start arguing about the existence of aliens vs. ghosts. The series is airing at the perfect time, just a few weeks before Halloween.
Dandadan will begin airing in Japan on October 3, 2024. It will also be available on Crunchyroll, and the team promises the series will be streaming across several different services to reach as many people worldwide as possible when it airs, with services including Netflix, Crunchyroll, Hulu, ADN, and Muse handling Dandadan globally.
The story follows two bold and eccentric people, Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura. After Momo saves Ken from being bullied, the two begin an argument about whether ghosts or aliens are real. The two are heavily in disagreement, with Momo believing in ghosts and Ken believing in aliens.
Dandadan will begin airing in Japan and on Crunchyroll this October.
To see who is correct, the two start visiting places that are said to be hotspots for one group or the other. Along their adventures, they realize it isn’t only one of them that is right, but both. Now, Momo and Ken must fix all of the strange, supernatural, and extraterrestrial problems around them so they can return to their normal lives.
Dandadan is a blend of genres, including action, romance, comedy, supernatural fantasy, and thriller. It was originally written by Yukinobu Tatsu. The story is still ongoing; it first started in 2021 and contains 15 volumes as of September 2024.
The series was confirmed early in 2020. However, Tatsu wanted to wait to start until after Chainsaw Man and Hell’s Paradise finished. This is because he was an assistant for both manga, and he wanted to perform his roles as well as he could before starting his own manga.
