See First Look At Adam Warlock’s Costume In Guardians Of The Galaxy 3
Will Poulter appears as Adam Warlock in this first-look image from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
While we got a brief look at Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer, we didn’t quite get a full look at his suit. Empire Magazine righted that wrong with their exclusive story, which shows his costume in all its glory. The extravagant golden costume matches his gold-tinged skin, and the red cape adds some dramatic flair.
Not only does the Empire story give us a better look at Adam Warlock, but we also get confirmation from James Gunn that he is “definitely not a good guy” in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While we know from the post-credits scene from the previous film that Warlock was created to destroy the Guardians, fans have been wondering what his true motivations will be. While his motivations can certainly change throughout the course of the movie, it sounds like he’ll definitely be an antagonistic force for the Guardians at first.
Will Poulter is playing Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 alongside a star-studded cast. Of course, we have the core players returning with Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis. We also have a new villain in the form of Chukwudi Iwuji as The High Evolutionary.
The rest of the cast is rounded out by Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone, Sean Gunn, Daniela Melchior, Michael Rosenbaum, Maria Bakalova, Nico Santos, Sarah Dean, and Dane Diliegro. James Gunn returns for one last time to write and direct before moving over to the DCU full-time. It’ll be interesting to see where James Gunn decides to take the Adam Warlock character, as it’ll likely be up to other creatives to continue his story after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock could be an important piece of the MCU puzzle following his Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 debut. The character is a significant presence in the comics, which is why everyone has been anticipating his appearance since it was first teased in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. He’s often an incredibly powerful character, and it would be interesting to see if he’ll factor into major crossover films like Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
In the Empire interview, James Gunn does mention that Adam Warlock is “basically a baby” in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, so it’s likely that he may end the interview as a force for good, or at least someone more neutral. This film has a lot of plates to balance, as it’s also supposed to be the final movie that features this iteration of the Guardians. With actors like Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista looking to end their MCU tenures, we could possibly be seeing some of these characters for the last time.
We only have a little while longer to wait to find out Adam Warlock’s motivations in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The film is set to hit theaters on May 5. Stay tuned for more Guardians and MCU news until then.
