See Adam Driver As Marvel’s Mister Fantastic
Adam Driver is heavily rumored to be involved in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, an amazing fan design imagines the Star Wars star as Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic.
When a Fantastic Four movie was announced to be a part of MCU’s Phase 6, many fans hoped that John Krasinski would somehow be able to reprise his role as the smartest man in the universe, despite his character’s extremely gruesome death in Doctor Strange in the Universe of Madness. Unfortunately, that hope was laid to rest, and now a new rumor is circulating the internet that Adam Driver might be the one to play Mister Fantastic in the upcoming flick. While nothing is yet confirmed as to whether or not Driver has the role, Instagram artist @clements.inc has put together a visual of what it would look like if the Star Wars actor accepted the part.
The artwork features a highly realistic look of Adam Driver as Mister Fantastic, wearing a skin-tight blue super suit with a white lab coat, which is fitting considering that the character is a scientist and inventor. Mister Fantastic, aka Dr. Reed Richards, is a polymath, which means that he has mastered all of the sciences, including electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, electronics, chemistry, physics, and biology. In the Marvel Universe, Reed Richards is considered the smartest man alive, although his intellect comes second to Lunella Lafayette, aka the nine-year-old superheroine Moon Girl.
While there has been no official announcement that Adam Driver will be playing Mister Fantastic in the upcoming film, industry insiders have hinted that the Marriage Story actor will have some part to play in the movie. While some are guessing that he will play the hero Reed Richards, others are hoping that Driver will portray the film’s villain, Doctor Doom. Meanwhile, rumors about who will fulfill the part of the main role have bounced around from whispers about actors like Adam Driver and John Krasinksi, to rumors about Dev Patel and Joseph Quinn.
Adam Driver began his acting career on Broadway before starting to snatch up supporting roles in films like Stephen Spielberg’s Lincoln (2012). However, his Hollywood career shot off after he portrayed the villainous Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, beginning with The Force Awakens. His success in that role allowed the actor to pick and choose the parts he plays, and now it seems Adam Driver might have his sights on Marvel’s Mister Fantastic.
President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has confirmed that Fantastic Four will kick off Phase 6 in the MCU’s plan to convert the Marvel comics stories to film. The feature will be directed by WandaVision director Matt Shakman and written by Jeff Kaplan, who is known for writing Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship (2013). However, at this time, that is all the information that has been announced, so whether or not Adam Driver will be playing Mister Fantastic or Doctor Doom is something we will have to wait to find out.
Despite the lack of officially announced details regarding Fantastic Four, the film has been slated to release on February 14, 2025, and is said to start filming in January 2024. This means that the production team will need to narrow down their choice of actors to play Reed Richards soon, and the choice, as many fans hope, might end up being Adam Driver as Mister Fantastic.
