Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Variants Revealed, See The Photos
Funko Pop is releasing figurines of Spider-Man variants featured in Across the Spider-Verse.
As if it weren’t exciting enough that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will finally be bringing back the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man this June, now we also have a chance to see all the different Spider-Man variants that will be in the film in Funko Pop form. The Hollywood Reporter has all the different variations on display in a recent article that is getting fans excited to start collecting.
Across the Spider-Verse will see Shameik Moore come back to voice Miles Morales, just one of the many characters in one of many universes that choose to take up the mantle of Spider-Man. The film includes a myriad of different Spider-people, and Funko’s Pop collection does exactly the same.
Characters included in the Across the Spider-Verse line are Spider-Man himself, Spider-Gwen (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld in the film), Spider-Byte, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Punk, Spider-Woman, Spider-Man India, and Spider-Man 2099, all of which will stand around 3.75 inches tall. There will also be a Pop of Miles Morales out of costume, as well as a Gwen Stacy figure.
There are even some Across the Spider-Verse villains to collect, like The Spot and Medieval Vulture. All of these Pops (both good and evil), are bobbleheads, making them a fun collectors’ item for kids and adults alike.
There will also be a Pop Jumbo Spider-Man, which will sell for $40 instead of $12 like the rest of the Pops on this list. Jumbo Pops are typically 10 inches tall instead of 3-4, making this a much bigger toy/collector’s item.
While this Jumbo Spider-Man may be seen as the crown jewel of this Across the Spider-Verse collection, there will also be other undisclosed exclusive pieces to be found via retailers like Amazon, Five Below, For Your Entertainment, and Entertainment Earth.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse won’t hit theaters until June 2nd, but we do already have an idea of what all the movie versions of these Funko Pop characters will be up to in it. In this sequel to the blockbuster hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Gwen Stacy asks Miles Morales for his help to save not just his universe’s Spider-People, but the Spider-People in all the Spider-Universes.
During their mission, Gwen and Miles travel through the multiverse as a team and meet a group of Spider-People who have formed a team: the Spider-Force. Unfortunately, though, Miles and the Spider-Force have different ideas about what to do to remedy the situation they are in, leading to even more tension and trouble.
Across the Spider-Verse has been in the works since November 2018, when audiences were already unexpectedly hyped to see the first film in the series. There was so much interest in that film that another one was pretty much a necessity. This second film also gave movie-makers a chance to explore the romance between Miles and Gwen that wasn’t delved into as deeply in the first film.
Across the Spider-Verse is already one of the most highly anticipated films of 2023, and that buzz will only continue to build with the announcement of cool merchandise like Funko’s Pops collection.
