See Zendaya In An Unbuttoned Shirt In The Desert

Zendaya looks amazing in an Arrakis-like desert.

Along with being an Emmy-winning actor, Zendaya also knows how to put together a top-notch Instagram post. The star recently took to social media to share a laid-back look against a desert backdrop. These sandy dunes are the perfect background, considering we’ll see Zendaya deal with plenty of sand when she makes her trip back to Arrakis in 2023.

Of course, that’s a reference to the upcoming follow-up to Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film Dune, Dune: Part Two. Zendaya will return as Chani, who will likely be getting quite a bit more screen time in this second outing. Now that Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and his mother Lady Jessica Atreides (Rebecca Ferguson) have been taken in by the Fremen, we should have a lot more Chani scenes (that aren’t visions) than last time.

Along with Zendaya, Timothee Chalamet, and Rebecca Ferguson, Dune: Part Two will bring back Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as Beast Rabban Harkonnen, Stephen McKinley Henderson as Thufir Hawat, and Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam.

The sequel is also bringing in some new faces to play some of the much-anticipated characters from the Frank Herbert novels, including Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino, Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV. Unfortunately, we have a little while to wait but we’ll be able to see this chapter of Dune when it hits theaters on November 3, 2023.

2021 was a huge year for Zendaya, as she also starred in Spider-Man: No Way Home along with her role in Dune. Both blockbusters made a ton of money, but Spider-Man: No Way Home became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, adding quite the accolade to Zendaya’s growing list of achievements. And although Zendaya didn’t appear in any movies this year, she did return to her hit series Euphoria for a second season.

Not only did Zendaya once again reprise her leading role as Rue in Euphoria, but she took home another Emmy for her performance after nabbing her first Emmy for the role in 2020. Of course, Euphoria is a smash hit, the show is also confirmed to come back for a third season. Who knows how many more Emmys Zendaya might take home before the show is over?

Along with Dune: Part Two, Zendaya will also appear in the movie Challengers, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Guadagnino has collaborated twice now with Zendaya’s Dune co-star Timothee Chalamet in the critically acclaimed Call Me By Your Name and the recent Bones and All. Surely he’ll be able to recreate that same magic working with Zendaya.

Challengers will follow three tennis players who knew each other as teenagers competing to become the world-famous grand slam winner. Luca Guadagnino directs the script by Justin Kuritzkes, with a cast that also includes Josh O’Connor, Mike Faist, and A.J. Lister. You can catch Zendaya in Challengers when it hits screens on August 11, 2023.
