Seems that everyone has had an opinion when it comes to the infamous Will Smith slap incident involving comedian Chris Rock. Just the other day, Will Smith finally publicly apologized for the incident on YouTube, while addressing and answering some tough questions from fans. Now, it appears as if Will Smith’s daughter, Willow Smith, has finally talked about the incident and how it made her feel. According to Willow, ” I see my whole family as being human, and I love and accept them for all their humanness.” She added, “Because of the position that we’re in, our humanness sometimes isn’t accepted, and we’re expected to act in a way that isn’t conducive to a healthy human life and isn’t conducive to being honest.”

Willow Smith certainly answered the question as honestly as possible, and when further probed about the scrutiny that her family has faced since the incident, she stated that the blowback from the incident didn’t affect her as much as her “own internal demons.” We can all admit that Will Smith made a horrible mistake, and that is something that he has confessed in his recent public apology video. However, we do tend to forget that actors, no matter how prolific, are still human beings. That is something that Willow seems to be trying to get across. By “humanness” it could be how Will Smith reacted harshly and drastically in a situation that should not have warranted assault. He struck Chris Rock out of anger, and sometimes anger gets the better of us.

Willow Smith is currently a musician, and she was asked about the situation while promoting her new album, COPINGMECHANISM. Everyone in the Smith family is likely tired of having to be asked about the situation and how they felt about it. However, that is also the tragedy of being in the public eye, if something negative happens to one person in the family, everyone will continue to ask the other family members about the drama. Seems Willow just recognizes the fault in the situation and wants to move on, same as the rest of her family.

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards, which made the situation that much worse considering he had won Best Actor for the first time in his long-standing career. The man also apologized to everyone who won that night, as the incident seem to overshadow the wins that other actors received that night. The slap earned the man a 10-year ban from the Academy Awards, but we could see that sentence dropped depending on the actions of Chris Rock in the next few months or so. Will has fully apologized for what he did and hopes that in time, everyone will forgive him. This could be the humanness that Willow Smith was referring to when discussing her family.

Willow Smith has been quite a popular musician for most of her career, with her past albums receiving MTV Music Award nominations. She has appeared in some films but chose to pursue the life of music, much like her father used to. She also co-hosts the Red Table Talk Facebook show with her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith. The pair have yet to fully discuss the slap that occurred, though Jada had touched on the subject some months ago. We might see a time when the entire Smith family discusses the event, but for now, they likely want to move on from it.
