It’s the new year, and you know what that means: time to look back on the past year and think about what you’re grateful for. High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens recently did this in a big way, posting several slides to Instagram while pondering what an amazing year she just had. The first slide is a video showing Vanessa Hudgens voguing in a sexy and form-fitting blue dress. The dress is designed to show off her legs, which is probably why the video starts out near her feet and pans up to display the rest of her body, including an absolutely beaming smile. She certainly looks quite cozy striking a pose in front of a roaring fireplace.
Instead of just settling for posting hot slides and calling it a day, Vanessa Hudgens wrote a lengthy caption recapping her past year’s accomplishments and how grateful she is for the opportunities she has had. These opportunities included her becoming an official host of several major events, including hosting from the red carpet for the Oscars and hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards. She also teamed up with Vogue to host the Met Red Carpet, which helps showcase just how far her career has come since her High School Musical days with Zac Efron.
In her Instagram post, Vanessa Hudgens also expressed gratitude for starring in two films that she really loved. While she didn’t name the movies, this presumably refers to 2022’s Asking For It and Downtown Owl — a movie that wrapped filming last May but has not yet been released. While Asking For It was critically panned, Downtown Owl sounds like it could be a real indie darling, and Hudgens (like any working actor) is more focused on having a steady stream of opportunities.
Not all of the things Vanessa Hudgens is grateful for from 2022 focus on her career. For example, in her online post, she mentioned having “some epic fashion moments.” This is clear from the photos in the rest of the slides where she alternates from wearing slinky black designer dresses to clothing so bright pink she looks like a comic book superhero.
She also knows how to have fun with fashion: one of the slides includes a video of her laughing and running around while having fun with a long train attached to her sparkling golden dress.
The final thing that she expressed gratitude for is the opportunity to travel. As Vanessa Hudgens wrote, this was a year where she really “Travvvveled,” and she has the photos to prove it, including a picture of herself and boyfriend Cole Tucker posing in front of the Eiffel Tower. Honestly, we really enjoyed living vicariously through Hudgens’ life in the awesome slides, and we can’t help but wonder if her experiences in 2023 could possibly top her awesome experiences in 2022.
