Tom Cruise’s youngest daughter, Suri, recently appeared on Broadway in a performance of Head Over Heels. Rather than use the name listed on her birth certificate, the 18-year-old dropped the last name she shares with her father and replaced it with “Noelle” on the show’s playbill. Listing herself as Suri Noelle appears to be a diss toward her father and a nod toward her mother, using Katie Holmes’ middle name.
Tom Cruise Hasn’t Seen Suri In 12 Years
It is unclear whether it was an intended slight against Tom Cruise, but Suri has reportedly not had a relationship with her father in over a decade. According to sources close to the family, the last time Suri saw her father was during her parent’s tumultuous and very high-profile divorce in 2012 when Suri was about six years old.
According to an inside source, while Tom Cruise hasn’t seen his daughter in years, he still completes financial obligations to Holmes and Suri as required by law after the divorce.
Katie Holmes Raised Suri
In addition to staying away from Tom Cruise, Holmes did her best to keep her daughter out of the public eye while Suri was growing up. In an interview with Glamour, Holmes expressed that safeguarding her daughter, especially considering her early exposure to the spotlight, has been paramount in her daughter’s upbringing. Holmes expressed how she values parenthood immensely and feels fortunate to be her daughter’s guardian, emphasizing her daughter’s exceptional character.
