Taylor Swift’s Next Collaborator Revealed?
While it’s easy to laugh at the album’s pretentious title, Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department is appropriately named—after all, the album featured some notable fellow “poets,” including Post Malone and Florence the Machine. The sheer success of that album has prompted Swifties everywhere to start asking the big question: just who will Tay Tay collaborate with next? Now, Megan Thee Stallion has thrown her name in the hat, saying “I love Taylor Swift, and I would like to collab with her one day.”

We know about this would-be dream collaboration because of a recent interview in which Megan Thee Stallion revealed her love of Swift and her desire for a musical team-up.
One of the reasons that she wants to collaborate is that she feels a sense of kinship with the Eras icon. “She’s a stallion too, she’s a tall girl,” the rapper noted.
Aside from that kinship with Taylor Swift, it sounds like Megan Thee Stallion is already imagining how the two might look next to each other in a music video. “We would be so cute next to each other,” she said.
The Grammy-winning artist isn’t wrong about that, and a collaboration with Swift would look great on her resume along with previous collaborations with big names like Beyoncé, Cardi B, Doja Cat, and more.

While the two haven’t announced any formal plans to collaborate (at least, not yet), this isn’t the first time Taylor Swift has crossed Megan Thee Stallion’s radar in a major way. At the 2023 VMAs, Megan and Cardi B debuted their song “Bongos,” and Swift had to fan herself during the performance.
It’s possible that she was just trying to keep cool, but most fans assumed this was a symbolic message that the “Bongos” performance from the two women was red hot.
Hotties
After she saw the clips of the other woman’s reaction, Megan Thee Stallion noted “how she was turning up,” causing her to say to herself, “Taylor Swift, friend, you better be having a bash while we up here shaking it.”
She apparently had such a great time that the “WAP” singer dubbed Swift a “Hottie.” If you’re not in the know, “Hotties” is the nickname for Megan Thee Stallion superfans, so this was high praise indeed.
Inspirations
Given how successful artists like Taylor Swift and Megan Thee Stallion are, it’s kind of cute to know that they can embrace their inner fangirl as easily as the rest of us.
Every performer has someone who inspires them—for example, Paris Hilton recently revealed that she has been a longtime inspiration to Charli XCX, whose hit album Brat has successfully dominated the entire summer, one playlist at a time.
It sounds like Swift’s own passion has been an inspiration for the “Savage” singer, and we’d love to see these two queens create a killer new tune in the studio that becomes this season’s hottest new earworm.
The VMAs
So far, though, the dream of a collaboration between these two remains just that: a dream. However, the “Hot Girl Summer” singer will be hosting the 2024 VMAs on September 11, and Taylor Swift will almost certainly be in attendance.
Her reaction to what Megan Thee Stallion says and does as host may ultimately determine whether Swift’s own Tortured Poets Department gains another talented artist for a chart-topping team-up.
