Actress Maya Hawke has built a pretty successful second career in music, having released two albums of folk music since she rose to fame playing Robin in Netflix’s smash hit Stranger Things. In a new Instagram post, she announced that she is touring England and parts of Europe in 2023, and showed off her unique and self-deprecating sense of humor when she told potential concert-goers “I guarantee mediocrity and I will aspire towards transcendence.” With filming of season five of Stranger Things due to begin sometime next year, her tour is likely scheduled around filming, as her tour takes up a few weeks in February and March.
The Maya Hawke Tactless Tour of the UK and EU will include the following stops:
- February 25, 2023 – at Santeria Toscana 31 in Milan, Italy
- February 27, 2023 – at the Frannz Club in Berlin, Germany
- March 1, 2023 – at the Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld in Cologne, Germany
- March 3, 2023 – at Melkweg in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- March 4, 2023 – at La Maroquinerie in Paris, France
- March 6, 2023 – at Lafayette in London, England
More information on her music and tour can be found at her website, Maya Hawke Music.com. Ticket pre-sales begin on Wednesday, October 26th, at 9 a.m. BST, using the pre-sale password: “silverstarlight.”
Maya Hawke has released two albums: Blush (2020) and Moss (2022), both to critical acclaim. She made her first television appearance as a musician in August of 2020 on The Today Show, performing music from Blush. Her second album, Moss, was just released last month.
In July, she turned the heads of more than a few fans when she released a very R-rated music video for her song “Thérèse,” in which she and a number of other people appear naked. Maya Hawke’s own brother Levon Hawke appears in the video as well, which is more than a little awkward.
Hawke joined the cast of Stranger Things in its third season, playing an employee at the Scoops Ahoy in Starcourt Mall with her co-worker Steve Harrington. She quickly became a fan favorite, and her wisecracking character returned for season four of the series, which released earlier this year in two parts.
As for the future of Stranger Things, Maya Hawke is hoping her character’s ice cream-scooping and video tape renting days are over, and she gets a big “heroic” death in the series’ fifth and final season. She might get her wish, although major character deaths are rare on the show. Star Millie Bobby Brown has publicly stated that she thinks more major characters should die, and even volunteered to have her character die as a way to shake things up and shock the audience, so maybe the Duffer Brothers might be listening and taking notes.
The daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, Maya Hawke was a model initially (like her mother) and made her acting debut in 2017 in the TV mini-series Little Women. She joined Stranger Things in 2019, and her latest film, Do Revenge, premiered on Netflix in September and even co-starred another Stranger Things alum, Eddie Munson himself, Joseph Quinn.
The fifth season of Stranger Things is due to release in 2023, although an exact premiere date has not been set.
