Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello are about to end their vacation, which means no more polishing bronze while relaxing in paradise. The Colombian born Vergara has been frequently updating her fans on social media, usually with glamorous outfits and amazing beachside images. The most recent post shows the star looking radiant in a small floral print outfit, accented by gold jewelry, bright red lipstick, and most importantly, Bubbles, the couple’s Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix.
The 50-year old Sofia Vergara often looks stunning in any outfit, proving the old adage that she could even make a potato sack look good. She even makes Bubbles look like a fancy little girl, despite the dog’s adorable tongue obviously being caught mid-lick. The tiny dog, originally meant for Vergara, has, according to the couple, bonded strongly with Joe, preferring his company over that of the Golden Globe winning actress.
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Sofia Vergara explained the relationship between her husband and their dog, “I have to say, he treats her like she’s a little daughter he has. But she insists on, you know, behaving like a concubine or like a mistress or something.” While pets will frequently choose one person to bond with over others, Joe Manganiello has an unfair advantage, having played a werewolf for years on True Blood.
Clearly Sofia Vergara’s husband is more in tune with dogs than she is, but the star hasn’t let that stop her from working on the relationship. For one of Manganiello’s birthdays, Vergara had a Bubble-themed birthday cake made for the Magic Mike star. While it would be safe to assume that the Modern Family star has more time to bond with Bubbles now that the long-running show is over, after 11 seasons and 250 episodes, it would be wrong, as the star seems to almost never take a break.
Right after Modern Family signed off, Sofia Vergara joined the hosting panel on America’s Got Talent, alongside Terry Crews (Brooklyn 99), Simon Cowell (American Idol), Howie Mandel (Bobby’s World), and Heidi Klum (Project Runway). Vergara started hosting with the show’s 15th season, still part of the program going strong into season 17 with no signs of leaving anytime soon. In addition to judging on the reality show, the award-winning actress is developing a crime drama miniseries for Netflix that will be a huge change from the typical comedic roles she’s taken since breaking out in the States.
Sofia Vergara is executive producing and also starring in Griselda, a Netflix miniseries about Griselda Blanco, a notorious Colombian druglord that ruled the underground scene in Miami during the 80’s. At the height of Blanco’s power, the drug network crisscrossed the United States and earned the cartel over $80 million a month. Watching the star of Hot Pursuit as a ruthless queenpin will be very different from having seen her opposite Ed O’Neil for over a decade, but given her stellar track record, it will likely be another hit for the streaming service, and maybe another award for the Colombian comedian.
