See Millie Bobby Brown Laying Out In White String Bikini
Millie Bobby Brown became famous thanks to the immense success of Stranger Things, and it’s been interesting watching her and the rest of the cast growing up before our eyes. That’s certainly true of Brown, but if you still doubt that she’s all grown up, just check out her Instagram post where she is laying out in a white string bikini.
Millie Bobby Brown appears in a white string bikini on Instagram while showing off her debut novel.
Everyone in the Stranger Things cast became famous for playing adolescents who get caught in supernatural shenanigans, and even as the show gears up for one final season, much of the cast is constantly proving that they’re all grown up by accepting very different film and TV roles.
Like a great many summer bikini shots of celebs, this photo of Millie Bobby Brown features the young star reading a book. For other celebs, this is usually an opportunity to appear deep and intellectual. It’s a visual shorthand for “all this and brains, too” that usually pairs very well with, say, posing in a skimpy string bikini.
However, if you look closer at what she’s reading, you’ll notice that Millie Bobby Brown has learned a lot about marketing from her time in Hollywood. Instead of reading a classic work of literature or some light summer beach reading, she is reading a copy of her own upcoming book, Nineteen Steps.
Millie Bobby Brown’s Upcoming Novel
If you’re wondering when you might be able to read it, the cover conveniently declares that the book is releasing on September 12.
What kind of book, then, has Millie Bobby Brown written? It’s not an autobiography, for which we were thankful (the thought of a 19-year-old writing an autobiography fills us with a bit of existential dread). Instead, it’s a historical novel set in World War 2, but based on the description, we don’t think there will be much overlap between her readers and the audience for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Oppenheimer.
While a work of historical fiction, Millie Bobby Brown’s novel is inspired by what some of her own family members experienced during World War 2. The narrative focuses on Nellie Morris, a young woman in London in 1942, who has trouble dreaming of a better world amid the constant wartime terror around her.
Meeting a young American airman changes that, but it doesn’t take long before an air raid catastrophe upends her life, forcing her to shape the very future she once had trouble envisioning.
On a scale of 1-10, we’re pretty confident this Stranger Things actor will take things to “Eleven.”
Interestingly, even though Millie Bobby Brown is most famous for Stranger Things, the marketing for the book doesn’t really emphasize that. However, there is a fun quote from bestselling author Kate Quinn about how excited she was “at the thought of a historical novel penned by Enola Holmes.”
This reference to Brown’s hit Netflix film franchise helps remind people she is famous for more than just Stranger Things.
Ultimately, Millie Bobby Brown’s stealth marketing technique certainly worked on us: we came for the white string bikini pic and walked away having learned all about her upcoming novel. Since this is her debut as a writer, we have high hopes for the novel’s quality. On a scale of 1-10, we’re pretty confident this Stranger Things actor will take things to “Eleven.”
