Jessica Alba attended a Halloween party dressed as the Grady sisters from The Shining, and the look was perfectly terrifying.
To celebrate the spooky season, Jessica Alba and a friend attended a Halloween party dressed as the Grady sisters from The Shining. The actress shared the creepy look in a mini video montage on TikTok. The clip sees the pair channeling the classic horror movie by standing side by side in a hallway and it also features clips from a concert and photos with other attendees.
The 41-year-old looked amazing in the baby blue mini dress with a white Peter Pan collar, puffy sleeves, and pink trim. The outfit was accessorized with a satin pink bow around the waist, white socks, and a pair of black loafers. Jessica Alba wore her shoulder-length hair clipped to the left side with a white bow.
But the creepy costume didn’t belong to Jessica Alba. She actually borrowed the outfit from her 14-year-old daughter Honor, who she thanked in the video’s caption. After 14 years of marriage, Jessica Alba shares three children (Honor, Haven, and Hayes) with her husband Cash Warren.
The actress has recently featured her daughter several times on social media, in relatable parenting moments like the kids heading off to their first days of high school and middle school. To capture the milestone, the Fantastic Four alum shared three photos of her girls posing together on their porch.
Interestingly, The Shining ensemble wasn’t the only costume Jessica Alba wore this Halloween. Along with her husband, the L.A.’s Finest star dressed as a mechanic to compliment her son’s Monster Truck costume. The actress pulled off the 1950s pin-up mechanic to perfection, with a tool belt attached to her waist. Four-year-old Hayes was all smiles as he posed for the picture with his parents.
Although the family photo is adorable, Jessica Alba’s Grady sisters’ costume was probably better suited for the Halloween party. Based on Stephen King’s 1977 novel, The Shining follows Torrance family patriarch Jack, who accepts a job as the caretaker of the Overlook Hotel during the winter. But when the family arrives at the secluded mountain resort, things take an ugly turn as a sinister force taunts Jack.
His son Danny’s “shining” ability also allows him to see the real horrors of the hotel. Released in 1980, The Shining is considered a classic in the horror genre and was ranked the 75th greatest film of all time in the Sight & Sound directors’ poll. However, Stephen King was never a fan of the film adaptation as he disagreed with the director’s interpretation of the source material.
Despite his unhappiness, the movie was a hit and fans like Jessica Alba have been dressing up as the iconic characters for years. Although Jessica Alba’s acting career has been quiet recently, she recently starred opposite Gabrielle Union in L.A.’s Finest. But the action comedy series about two female detectives was canceled after just two seasons.
However, she will soon appear in director Mouly Surya’s Trigger Warning. The story follows a traumatized veteran. She faces a moral dilemma after inheriting her grandfather’s bar and learning the truth behind his untimely death.
