See Aubrey Plaza Suddenly Blonde And In A Two-Piece
Aubrey Plaza is one busy actress, but she found time to show out at the 2022 Gotham Awards. No stranger to stunning photos, the White Lotus star posted her chic look for the ceremony on Instagram, flaunting her new blonde hair and an elegant, white two-piece outfit tastefully patterned with shimmering jewels. Her side part hairstyle cleared the way for her stand-out makeup look and glittering diamond earrings.
Plaza’s look echoed classic Hollywood glamor, right down to her cherry-red nail polish. Her cropped top and high slit up the left side of her skirt helped modernize the classical components of the star’s fresh style. Known for dark, edgy looks, Aubrey Plaza was shining bright at this Hollywood event, largely due to her new blonde hair, as she showed her fresh new color for the first time a week before at the 2022 Governors Awards.
The actress’s post contains a couple of solo shots that highlight the fashion details, along with a photo of Aubrey Plaza next to Atlanta star Brian Tyree Henry. Plaza’s caption ends with, “Brian, remember Chucky??” The two faced off against the murderous doll Chucky in 2019’s Child’s Play, a reboot of the 1988 slasher.
Aubrey Plaza attended the Gotham Awards, which honor the year’s best independent films, as a nominee for Outstanding Lead Performance in Emily the Criminal. The film was helmed by first-time writer and director John Patton Ford. Following its debut at Sundance at the top of 2022, the film opened theatrically in August to critical praise that was largely directed at Plaza’s performance.
The nomination comes 10 years after Aubrey Plaza’s first Gotham Award nomination back in 2012. Plaza was nominated alongside co-stars Jake Johnson, Mark Duplass, and Kristen Bell for Safety Not Guaranteed helmed by eventual Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow. Plaza has yet to win at the Gotham Awards, but it seems the prolific actress is just happy to be there.
Alongside her glamorous photos, Plaza tagged the Gotham organization, thanking them for the nomination. She also reminded fans that Emily the Criminal arrives on Netflix on December 7, 2022.
Since her career-making tenure as April on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, Plaza has kept busy in a host of excellent roles. She made notable appearances in the film Ingrid Goes West, the FX series Legion, and most recently starred in the acclaimed second season of the HBO drama The White Lotus. Aubrey Plaza is currently working with legendary director Francis Ford Coppola on the sci-fi drama Megalopolis and is gearing up for production on the Marvel Studios show Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Agatha marks Aubrey Plaza’s introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though her role is still unknown, Plaza said her main draw to the project was working with its star, Kathryn Hahn, who reprises the titular role of Agatha following the events of 2021’s WandaVision. The plot of Agatha is still under wraps, and Plaza is earning her Marvel stripes by side-stepping questions about the upcoming Marvel show.
Aubrey Plaza is busy, and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. With much more on the way from this superstar, expect more jaw-dropping looks in the future.
