Salma Hayek looks stunning in her new swimsuit photo!

Salma Hayek has had a busy 2021. Hayek made her Marvel Cinematic Universe premiere as Ajak in Eternals earlier this month. This Wednesday she stars as the self-styled psychic Pina Auriemma in Ridley Scott’s biopic House of Gucci. Like high profile actors are usually called up to do, Hayek had to embark on demanding promotional tours for both films. A new photo on Hayek’s social media finds the star relaxing, while completely incapable of taking a break from looking stunning.
The new photo comes to us from Salma Hayek’s Instagram, posted yesterday. The actress lounges in a hammock while wearing a sexy teal one-piece swimsuit. In her caption, she writes that there’s “nothing like a hammock siesta to recover from promoting 2 movies back to back.” You can see the photo below.
This year’s proven to be Salma Hayek’s most prolific in terms of screen acting since 2017. Eternals and House of Gucci weren’t her only films released this year. In February she appeared opposite Owen Wilson in the Amazon Studios drama Bliss. This past summer she reprised the role of Sonia Kincaid alongside Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in the action comedy sequel Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. Of course, because of COVID-19, while released this year, most of those movies were shot a while ago. With the exception of House of Gucci — which filmed between this February and May — all of Hayek’s films released this year were filmed mostly in 2019.
So, it looks like Salma Hayek is in for a well-deserved break. At least judging by the star’s IMDb page, she has no TV or film acting gigs lined up after House of Gucci. But that break only seems to be a vacation from being in front of the camera. Hayek is working as executive producer on Santa Evita — a TV miniseries made by Disney’s Latin America label Buena Vista Original Productions. According to Variety, Santa Evita revolves around the “near surreal” fate of the body of the late Argentine First Lady, Eva Perón.
Appearing on screen for the first time in the late ’80s, Salma Hayek has of course earned the privilege to be a little lazy if she feels like it. Of course, no one would likely accuse her of laziness, except for Hayek herself. In July, Hayek talked about how she lost out on the role of Trinity in 1999’s The Matrix — which eventually became one of Carrie-Ann Moss’ signature roles — and blamed it on her laziness. Speaking with Jada Pinkett Smith on Red Table Talk, Hayek confessed that she was in the final rounds of auditions for the role when she washed out. She told Pinkett Smith that when stunt coordinators from Asia were brought in to test her physically, she couldn’t handle it. “I’m flexible and agile, but I’m lazy,” Hayek said. “I never really went to the gym and they said to me, ‘You have to run!’ I go, ‘To where?’ I couldn’t even go around the room once… They never called me again after that day.”
While Salma Hayek may be taking a well-deserved rest from acting for now, it won’t last forever. She’s signed on to reprise the role of Ajak for multiple Marvel movies. We’ll see her again, and until then, hopefully there are more swimsuit photos in our future.
