See Salma Hayek Bursting Out Of A Bright Green Dress
Salma Hayek shows off the sexy dress she wore to Marc Anthony and Nadia Ferrara's wedding over the weekend.
As reported by Glamour and others, singer Marc Anthony and Paraguayan fashion model Nadia Ferrera tied the knot over the weekend and Salma Hayek was one of the many A-list guests at the nuptials. The two worked together a couple of decades ago on the 2001 Showtime feature In the Time of the Butterflies, and remain good friends to this day. While the rest of us couldn’t be there for the ceremony, Hayek was kind enough to share a steamy shot of what she wore to the wedding in the Instagram post below.
Salma Hayek posted the shot of herself in the Giambattista Valli-designed halter dress, and according to the caption of her post the picture was taken “just before getting in the car.” The dress includes beaded details all along the neckline: a neckline that drops down to nowhere near her neck. Doubtless, in spite of Nadia Ferrera’s work in the modeling industry, the bride wasn’t the only beauty getting gawked at during the ceremony.
The star of the upcoming Magic Mike’s Last Dance wasn’t the only big name in attendance at the Miami wedding. Anthony and Ferrera’s guests included Hamilton creator Lin Manuel Miranda, footballer legend David Beckham and his wife Victoria, and Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. Miami mayor Francis X. Suarez officiated the wedding, and Glamour reports a number of presidents of Latin American nations were guests as well; without going so far as to name which countries.
Marc Anthony and Salma Hayek collaborated on In the Time of the Butterflies just before the actress was about to receive her most prestigious honor — her 2003 nomination for Best Actress for Frida. In the Time of the Butterflies features Hayek playing Minerva Mirabal, one of three sisters murdered for resisting the rule of the Dominican Republic dictator Rafael Trujillo. Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) played Trujillo while Anthony was Minerva’s early lover Lio, whose example inspires Minerva to rebel against Trujillo.
The film was adapted from the 1994 novel of the same name by Julia Alvarez, which was based on real-life events. Like the character that Salma Hayek plays in the film, the real-life Minerva Mirabal, her two sisters, and their driver were murdered by Trujillo’s secret police in November 1960. Trujillo himself would be assassinated six months later.
Salma Hayek’s more recent work is certainly of lighter fare. Most recently, she once more gave voice to Kitty Softpaws in the animated sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. On February 10, she will star opposite Hollywood heartthrob Channing Tatum in Magic Mike’s Last Dance, which had its world premiere last week in Miami.
