Power Rangers Actor Wanted By Police After Alleged Attack

Idaho police are currently looking for Power Rangers actor Hector David Jr after an alleged incident with an elderly man on Friday. A video shared by the group Nampa’s Crime Stoppers showed an altercation between a man and an elderly man using a walker. The video shows the suspect pushing the senior to the ground, speaking to the man, and then leaving the scene in a truck with a Texas license plate.

Rivera Under Suspicion

After the video was released, the local community weighed in to help identify the suspect, and local authorities told the news outlet KTVB that the man is suspected to be Power Rangers actor Hector David Rivera, who uses the stage name Hector David Jr.

Rivera is being charged with misdemeanor battery and the police are currently seeking a warrant for his arrest.

At this time, the Power Rangers actor has not been located, and he has been removed from the Magic Valley Comic-Con website where he was scheduled to make an appearance.

The Comic-Con marketing director, Larissa Long, explained to KTVB “We are looking into it and will take appropriate action.” Meanwhile, reps for Rivera did not respond to requests for comment from Entertainment Weekly.

Power Rangers Samurai

Rivera is best known for his role as the Green Power Ranger in the show Power Rangers Samurai as well as Megaforce and several of the video games for the franchise. Samurai was his introduction to the franchise as the character Mike, who is the Green Samurai Ranger.  As the Green Samurai Ranger, he controls the element of the forest and is the pilot of the Bear FoldingZord.

Rivera’s Work

There have been many different actors and iterations of the Green Power Ranger over the years, and Rivera played the character in 44 episodes of Power Rangers Samurai and Super Samurai, three episodes of Megaforce, and Clash of the Red Rangers – The Movie. In addition to his role as the Green Ranger in that franchise, he has also appeared in films like Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Austin St. John

Meanwhile, Rivera is far from the only Power Rangers actor to be in the news for controversial reasons lately. Austin St. John, the original Red Ranger and star of Might Morphin’ Power Rangers, made the especially strange choice earlier this year to announce a merch line that includes quotes from famous figures, or ‘Warriors’ as he called it throughout history.

One of those famous figures was Adolf Hitler, with the excuse “I’m gonna have famous quotes from warriors of all ilks, including the terrible ones,” adding, “Hitler was, you know, a demon on steroids, but he had some pretty good one-liners.”

Power Rangers Problems

Austin St. John was also previously arrested in 2022 for defrauding the government’s COVID-19 business relief program, so Rivera also isn’t the only Power Rangers actor facing legal troubles.

With that being said, Rivera has yet to be found and the charges against him are still alleged, so it remains to be seen how the rest of this story pans out.

In the meantime, the modern Power Rangers franchise seems to still be going strong with the 30th anniversary reunion special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always coming out last year and Hasbro is currently looking for a new partner to start a reboot of the TV franchise.
