Pokemon Toyota Vehicle Takes Riders Into The Future With Astonishing Design
If you are a Pokemon fan, you probably had many daydreams as a kid about being able to interact with them in real life. How cool would it be to have something like a real life Charizard to hang out with, fly you around, and help you out with some fire breath if you ever got into trouble? While we are not quite at that point yet, we have just gotten one step closer to you being able to have your own real-life Pokemon, and it is all thanks to…Toyota?

In Japan, Toyota recently revealed that they have made their very own Pokemon vehicle! It is the dragon Miraidon which was on display at the Tokyo Midtown Hibiya complex. Pokemon and Toyota might sound like a bizarre combination, but the vehicle was made based on survey results from 8,000 elementary school children who evidently told the car manufacturer this is what they wanted to drive when they were older.
When it was on display at the Tokyo Midtown Hibiya complex, visitors got to ride it for themselves to see how it feels.
Honestly, there would no doubt be quite a few adults who would have requested this from Toyota as well.
The Pokemon vehicle from Toyota is actually operational as well, meaning you can technically drive it. You just need to not be in a rush to go anywhere, as it can only go about two miles per hour. But being honest, the big draw towards riding Miraidon would not be in getting around, but just getting to say you are riding a big dragon!
Miraidon is also operational in four-legged mode and a two-wheel drive mode, depending on how you prefer to get around. When it was on display at the Tokyo Midtown Hibiya complex, visitors got to ride it for themselves to see how it feels. It admittedly does not look like the most comfortable Pokemon to ride, but perhaps that is something Toyota can refine in the future.

It is unclear how much the vehicle costs or if more of them will be produced. It was most likely simply a technology showcase to demonstrate what modern vehicles can become and what Toyota is now capable of doing.
It is certainly fun to think that maybe other Pokemon vehicles could be coming soon from Toyota. There are over 1,000 Pokemon that have been created, and there are plenty that would be big enough to take a ride on.

It is certainly not uncommon for novelty cars to be made, like Batman’s Batmobile, or the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Those cars can actually be driven on the street too. The Pokemon vehicles from Toyota would need a bit more work in that regard to be street-ready.
Being able to go over two miles per hour would be a start. Miraidon would also need some seatbelts and mirrors. If the public demand is high enough, anything is possible!
However, as fun as it might be to have more Pokemon cars, it is hard to picture Toyota pivoting its business in that direction. This is an entertaining change of pace for the car maker, but probably a temporary one. Still, if Toyota was committed to making more Pokemon cars, it would give a whole new meaning to “gotta catch ‘em all.”
