Since he deactivated his account in 2018, Pete Davidson has been off of Instagram. Per TMZ, the former SNL star is back on the platform, this time sharing an account with NFL legend Eli Manning. Davidson, a fan of Manning’s former team, the New York Giants, had the star quarterback over to hang out at his apartment, and the two decided to document the collision of comedy and professional sports on Instagram.

Eli Manning joined Pete Davidson in the actor’s home for an episode of The Eli Manning Show. The episode features discussion about football, pizza, and Davidson’s career. For Davidson, a longtime Giants fan, hosting Eli Manning for the afternoon was a dream come true.

The joy is evident in the Instagram posts. They begin with Pete and Eli introducing the account from Davidson’s bed, which is New York Giants-themed, of course. They go on to reveal Manning pointing to Pete Davidson’s football helmet tattoo on his abdomen and then toss the ol’ pigskin around in the living room.

Pete Davidson’s catches of Manning’s legendary throws are spotty. Ever the good sport, Davidson was all smiles, even with the drops. The pair eventually moved on from games to discuss professional life.

Davidson, who began his career on Saturday Night Live in 2014 at the ripe age of 20, recently left the long-running sketch show amidst one of the largest cast shakeups the show has experienced in recent years. Pete Davidson has enjoyed a successful career in film and TV, with notable roles in The King of Staten Island, The Suicide Squad, and Bodies Bodies Bodies. He is set to appear in a number of upcoming projects, including Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Bupkis, a comedy series chronicling an exaggerated version of Pete Davidson’s real life.

For all his achievements on screen, Pete Davidson might be best known for his constant wave-making off screen, particuarly in his dating life. Davidson has had a number of high-profile relationships with female celebrities, including Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and most recently, model Emily Ratajkowski.

The actor and comedian, only 28, has been very public about his mental health struggles over the years. He is often noted as being funny, charming, and above all else, refreshingly honest, a quality easily lost in the world of celebrity. The combination of Davidson’s authenticity and his constant romantic entanglements with celebrities has garnered the comedian a unique fanbase; some people love him, while others simply can’t believe what they’re seeing.

The love life of Pete Davidson, enthralling as it is, took a backseat for Pete’s afternoon with his childhood hero. Eli Manning had an excellent career in the NFL and has continued that excellence into life after football. The Eli Manning Show is just one endeavor from the quarterback turned commentator. He and his brother, Peyton Manning, host Manningcast, in which they offer their unique perspective on Monday Night Football games in rea time.

Fans of Pete Davidson have long awaited the star’s return to Instagram. Though his latest foray on the platform isn’t what most people expected, it is certainly a treat. Fans can only hope that Davidson and Manning’s account stays active in the wake of a new and wholesome friendship.
