Sexiest Man Alive Paul Rudd Shares His Secret To Endless Youth
Paul Rudd has revealed the most important aspect of his workout regime and staying young is sleep.
Paul Rudd, who was named the Sexiest Man Alive by People in 2021, says the secret to his endless youth is sleep. The Ant-Man star made the revelation in an interview with Men’s Health. When asked about his diet and exercise routine for maintaining a superhero physique, the actor said, “The most important part of training is sleep.”
After sleep, Paul Rudd lists diet, weightlifting, and cardio in descending order of importance. “People ask me, ‘Can you send me your meal plan? How many times a week do you work out? Do you drink?'”
“‘Do you eat carbs? Do you have a cheat day?’” he added, before reiterating the value of sleep. He also explained that training after a few hours of sleep may actually be counter-productive to your health.
The Marvel star also shared his daily routine with the publication, which begins with a cup of coffee. “And then I do cardio before I eat anything. I never would’ve done that before Ant-Man,” Paul Rudd said.
The 53-year-old says eggs, salmon, and protein shakes are diet staples. He also tries to do weight training three times a week.
Although the routine might sound difficult, Paul Rudd says it’s actually comforting. “Routine is a human need. It’s grounding in a really positive and healthy way,” he told Men’s Health.
The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star admitted that he never expected to be in a superhero movie because he didn’t think he was the type of actor who would be offered those roles.
So, his fitness regime helps him feel like less of an impostor on set. He is also happy with the change because he just feels better. “I’ve learned so much about how my body reacts to foods, exercise and how much it affects me mentally,” Paul Rudd continued.
“If I’m in this suit, running around playing a character who’s supposed to be a superhero, I just feel better. And I feel less like an impostor,” he added.
Paul Rudd made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Scott Lang in 2015’s Ant-Man. That was followed by appearances in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018, and Avengers: Endgame in 2019. He will also lead the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which is set for release later this month.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is directed by Peyton Reed from a script by Jeff Loveness. The story follows Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) as they explore the Quantum Realm with her parents and Scott’s daughter Cassie. The group is eventually pushed to its limit when the teenager accidentally creates a Quantum Beacon and contacts Kang the Conqueror.
Led by Paul Rudd, the film is said to permanently alter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Scott Lang and Cassie at the center of that shift. Speaking to Access Hollywood previously, Peyton Reed said Quantumania will also include some unexpected cameos and other surprises. “There’s great fun in store for everyone and some surprising faces that may show up,” the filmmaker said.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, starring Paul Rudd will hit theaters worldwide on February 17th.
