Olivia Wilde has successfully transitioned into a respected filmmaker, but she remains as glamorous as any movie star ever has been. The Don’t Worry Darling director recently attended the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Art+Film Gala, where some of the most beautiful people in Hollywood came to show and prove, and one would be hard-pressed to stack anyone against her. Thanks to an Instagram post by renowned stylist Karla Welch, we get to see Olivia Wilde in a low-cut sequined gown and sexy red latex opera gloves.

In the image, Olivia Wilde is caught mid-turn, her long honey-blonde hair cascading in soft curls down one shoulder. She is wearing a purple and silver sequined gown with a chevron pattern and an extremely low-cut neckline. The dress was designed by Gucci, with the fashion house’s creative chief Alessandro Michele being tagged in the photo, along with hairstylist Lona Maria Vigi and Reza Jewelry.

The most dramatic part of Olivia Wilde’s LACMA Gala outfit, however, has to be the arm-length, bright red opera gloves, also by Gucci. As a whole, the outfit evokes a futuristic, glammed-up 1920s flapper style, which she can, fortunately, pull off exceedingly well. Even though she was surrounded by fashion-forward celebrities like Jared Leto and Billie Eilish, it is safe to say that Olivia Wilde had a top-tier look going on.

We recently reported that Olivia Wilde is being pursued by the newly formed DC Studios to direct a film for Warner Bros. Discovery’s latest attempt at creating a franchise of comic book adaptations to compete with Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though there has been no official announcement from either Olivia Wilde or DC Studios, it feels like the new head honcho James Gunn is looking to bring in some new, upcoming directorial talent.

Olivia Wilde in Don’t Worry Darling

If Olivia Wilde does sign up for a DC Universe film, it will be a significant step up in scale for her resume as a director. Her first movie, the raunchy teen comedy Booksmart, was a surprise hit, helping to launch star Beanie Feldstein to wider visibility. Her second movie, Don’t Worry Darling, was also more successful than expected at the box office, though it was in the headlines far more often for the alleged off-screen drama than for its receipts.

Specifically, the alleged drama of the relationship between Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles (both of whom appeared in the film), the director’s separation from former partner Jason Sudeikis, a certain salad dressing recipe, a supposed feud between Olivia Wilde and star Florence Pugh, and Shia LaBeouf just in general. However, it seems none of that has dimmed her prospects in Hollywood and certainly has not done anything to her sense of style.

Whether or not Olivia Wilde will be directing a movie for DC Studios or anyone else anytime soon is up in the air, but as long as she is out there showing off looks like this, we are pretty satisfied. At the very least, she can keep attending galas forever.
