Michael Madsen, Quentin Tarantino Actor, Arrested On Violence Charge

By Douglas Helm | Published

Michael Madsen has been arrested in Malibu on a charge of domestic battery. A police statement for the Malibu/Lost Hills police station said the department responded to a report of a family disturbance, with the informant stating a female adult alleged her husband had pushed her and locked her out of their home. An initial investigation led deputies to determine Madsen was involved in a domestic incident with his wife, leading to an arrest.

Released On Bond

The station also said the investigation is ongoing and being forwarded to the Van Nuys Superior Court House. Michael Madsen was then released on $20,000 bail after a bond was posted. At this time, there aren’t any details about an upcoming court date, but a conviction for domestic battery misdemeanor could result in jail time or a restraining order.

Michael Madsen’s reps have yet to comment on the story, but we’ll keep you updated. Madsen is best known for his many roles in Quentin Tarantino films, most notably as Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs. Mr. Blonde is in the film’s most memorable scene, where he gleefully engages in torture to the tune of “Stuck in the Middle With You.”

Supporting Role Superstar

Although Michael Madsen’s breakout role could be considered his turn in Reservoir Dogs, he began his rise to stardom in the classic Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis film Thelma & Louise as Louise’s boyfriend, Jimmy Lennox. Madsen’s other memorable roles in the 90s included Lefty Ruggerio crew member Sonny Black in Donnie Brasco and Earp family member Virgil Earp in Wyatt Earp.

Kill Bill

Michael Madsen also played a notable role in Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2, in which he played the assassin Budd, the brother of David Carradine’s Bill. His most recent collaboration with Tarantino was in Tarantino’s latest film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in a brief cameo role. Madsen was also rumored to be in the cast of Tarantino’s tenth and final film, The Movie Critic, but Tarantino opted to drop the project, so it remains to be seen if Madsen will appear in his actual final film.

A Prolific Actor

Michael Madsen has had numerous roles in the past years, with appearances in eight different projects in 2024 alone, with most being direct-to-video. Throughout Madsen’s career, he has appeared in over 200 films, TV shows, video games, music videos, and more. Most recently, Madsen appeared in the indie drama Max Dagan, where he co-starred alongside Zachary Gordon, Rob Morrow, Jeff Ross, and Jay Mohr.

Waiting For Fallout From The Arrest

Michael Madsen has quite a few other upcoming projects on the way, many of them direct-to-video, so it’s unclear if this incident will impact any of them. Most are in post-production or completed, but it’s possible that projects that have yet to begin filming could opt to drop Madsen if he’s convicted. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if Madsen is convicted and if a court date is in the near future for the actor.
