For some reason, Mayim Bialik can’t seem to catch a break. She has been battling her way into securing a spot as the host of Jeopardy! and now it seems that she is dealing with COVID-19. The actress-turned-host posted her confirmation on her Instagram page, including some small recovery videos. Most of her journey had been recorded on her Bialik Breakdown podcast. The scary thing is that Bialik is immunocompromised, which means she could be hit harder with the symptoms of the virus. Thankfully, she seems to be doing better currently. You can see the announcement below:

There had been plenty of rumors surrounding the idea that Mayim Bialik would be selected to be taking on the role of permanent host for Jeopardy! however, it appears as if that designation might fall directly to Ken Jennings. Despite that rumor, Bialik has been splitting hosting duties with the quiz show’s most winningest contestant for this current season. There has been no update about if anyone else has happened to catch COVID-19, but we will have to wait and see. Hopefully, no one else besides Bialik has caught the virus. She had also admitted that her 16-year-old son is still battling the virus as well. We wish them both a speedy recovery.

Speaking on her podcast, Miyam Bialik detailed a bit about what it felt like to have COVID-19, especially being someone who is immunocompromised. According to Bialik, “The exhaustion is very special. I had mononucleosis in college, and the exhaustion hits like that, where you cannot be awake. You can try to be awake, but all of a sudden, you need to sleep.” Deep exhaustion is certainly one of the biggest drawbacks of the virus, even scarier is the not having the ability to breathe correctly, which has seemed to have not affected Bialik.

Though she was dealing with the worst of the symptoms in the first few days, Miyam Bialik also stated that she had been feeling better, though her paranoia was reaching a whole new level. This has been the case for most people who have contracted the virus. She added, “Feeling a whole bunch of regret that I ever took my mask off, ever, in the world, like even outside.” She continued, “I’m just putting this out there: I’m feeling a lot of fear. Like why did I ever go out? Why did I think that anything was fine, ever?” Tons of people have felt the same type of regret after catching COVID-19, but thankfully, it seems that has been the worst of her issues.

For now, all Miyam Bialik can do is rest up and let the virus pass through her body. Although COVID-19 certainly affects people differently, everyone can take some solace knowing that she seems to be on the mend, despite her feelings of paranoia. Things could have gone much worse for the actress, as being immunocompromised could have landed her in the hospital. Trouble breathing is one of the biggest issues that may lead to death from COVID-19. We are not trying to sound morbid, but we are just happy that she seems to be doing much better. Again, for those who have contracted the virus, we are sure you have felt the same way in terms of the paranoia Bialik is feeling. Should Ken Jennings test positive, then Jeopardy! will have to do what it can to find a host quickly. Might we suggest, LaVar Burton?
