Maya Hawke Kills It In Wonderful Retro Dress
Maya Hawke wore a gorgeous Chanel dress to Cannes to support Asteroid City.
The beautiful young actress Maya Hawke just took to Instagram to share a few photos of herself and fellow cast members at the Cannes Film Festival. She was there for the world premiere of her new movie Asteroid City, which was written and directed by Wes Anderson. The Stranger Things actress wore a wonderful retro Prada dress along with a dazzling, chunky necklace from Chopard.
The three photos Maya Hawke shared with her 10.5 million Instagram followers all feature her in the green strapless Prada dress, long blue opera gloves, and white platform boots that look like they’re straight out of a 70’s disco.
The first photo is a black-and-white portrait of Maya Hawke looking directly at the camera with a sultry stare, making it clear that she is in fact a successful model as well as an actress. The second photo features a cheerful Maya Hawke peeking around a very excited Bryan Cranston while director Wes Anderson stands in the background. The last photo captures the sweet, light-hearted moment when Maya Hawke danced down the red carpet with her Asteroid City co-star Rupert Friend.
In her Instagram post, Maya Hawke was very appreciative of her time at Cannes, thanking Wes Anderson and his “extended artistic family” for making their new movie possible, and even called it “passionate” and “poignant.” She also thanked Prada and Chopard for allowing her to wear their beautiful dress and necklace on such a special day. Many of her fans commented on the post to share their love for the actress and remind her of her beauty, while others pointed out her typo in the caption (Asteroid City was mistakenly spelled “Astroid city”).
The new Wes Anderson film Asteroid City stars a laundry list of incredible actors, including Scarlett Johansson, Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Margot Robbie, Adrien Brody, and so many more, along with rising star Maya Hawke. The drama-comedy film takes place in a tourist city that gets quarantined due to an alien encounter during a Junior Stargazer convention. Maya Hawke plays the role of June Douglas, a young teacher who seems to have a love interest in Rupert Friend’s character, Montana.
Maya Hawke is the 24-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, and the older sister to their only other child together, Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke. One of her first acting roles was as the character Flower Child in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Since that film, Maya Hawke landed her big role as Robin Buckley in Stranger Things, appearing in 17 episodes across seasons 3 and 4.
Next up, Maya Hawke will wrap up her role in Stranger Things as the team works on the fifth and final season that will hopefully air in 2024. Later this year, we will see Maya Hawke in Bradley Cooper’s biographical film Maestro which is based on the life of Leonard Bernstein. Maya Hawke will also star alongside her mother (Uma Thurman) and Samuel L. Jackson in The Kill Room, a comedy thriller about an assassin turned avant-garde sensation.
