November 14 is National Pickle Day, and it was a day created to celebrate the pickle as one of the world’s best-loved fermented foods. True Detective star Matthew McConaughey, whose latest movie was canceled following disturbing allegations, chose to commemorate the occasion by taking to Twitter to share a throwback photo of himself. The Matthew McConaughey nude photo is in front of a well-stocked refrigerator while holding a jar of pickles.
Since uploading the image with the caption “pickled #nationalpickleday,” the actor’s post has garnered over 23,000 likes, and it has been retweeted more than 1,500 times.
Matthew McConaughey also set Instagram ablaze with the same photo featuring himself in the nude. The image showcases the actor, who is a Texas native, with an enormous smirk on his face as he poses in front of an open fridge. He’s gotten far more attention on the Meta-owned social media network, amassing more than 508,000 likes and over 4,600 comments.
This isn’t the first time Matthew McConaughey has proclaimed his love for pickles, although it is the first time he’s done so with an image of himself in the nude. Last year, the 53-year-old actor took to Instagram to share a video where he explained why he’s so in love with the fermented snack. The self-professed pickle expert suggested that cucumbers lack taste, but once they’ve aged a bit, they make for a delectable treat.
Although Matthew McConaughey isn’t in the habit of sharing nude photos of himself on social media, he has posted several images to Instagram where he isn’t wearing a shirt. In one recent picture, the star celebrated his birthday with a large bowl of Fruity Pebbles, a moment he captured and shared with his nearly seven million followers. In the photo, he sits shirtless at a table with a spoon in his hand and a youthful grin on his face.
In another post to the social network a few months back, Matthew McConaughey published an image of himself to promote his 2020 book Greenlights. In the photo, the actor is sporting a black backpack with a determined look on his face. Although he isn’t nude in the picture, he does show off his stunning upper body, which is chiseled and tan.
Of course, outside of social media, Matthew McConaughey is no stranger to strutting around in the nude. The Oscar-winning actor has appeared in a slew of motion pictures over the course of his career where his birthday suit is on full display. Most recently, his bottom was on display in the appropriately titled 2019 flick The Beach Bum.
In terms of mainstream releases, 2012’s Magic Mike is likely the most recognized film featuring Matthew McConaughey in the nude. Considering the storyline centers around a male stripper who mentors a younger male stripper, most of the movie’s main cast expected to bare quite a bit of skin when they signed on for the feature, including Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, and Joe Manganiello. Men in their birthday suits aside, the film managed to win over the hearts of critics and viewers alike, with its clever script and remarkable performances.
