Marilyn Manson Is Being Sued Again
Marilyn Manson just settled a lawsuit for sexual assault last week, and now's being sued again with very similar charges.
The controversial musician Brian Warner, better known as Marilyn Manson, is being accused once again of alleged sexual assault. According to Deadline, the claimant is citing that “As a result of Brian Warner’s sexual abuse and assault, enabled and encouraged by Defendants Interscope and Nothing Records, Plaintiff has suffered severe emotional, physical and psychological distress, including shame, and guilt, economic loss, economic capacity and emotional loss.” The lawsuit was filed on Monday, January 30th with the New York Supreme Court.
The lawsuit comes from a woman claiming Manson sexually assaulted her when she was underage and then again as an adult. Courts are guarding her name in order to protect the privacy of the victim.
According to the lawsuit, Marilyn Manson “performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon Plaintiff, who was a virgin at the time, including but not limited to forced copulation and vaginal penetration. One of the band members watched Defendant Warner sexually assault Plaintiff.” It also alleges that Manson told her that ”if she told anyone, he would kill her and her family.”
According to the lawsuit, the initial assault on Jane Doe occurred when she was 16 and the artist invited her onto his tour bus. It also details that Manson started “soliciting Plaintiff to send explicit sexual photos of her and her friends to his fan club, “Satan’s Bakesale.” A second assault allegedly occurred after he procured these images.
She again encountered Marilyn Manson years later when she was 19, rejoining the world of metal music after becoming involved with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The lawsuit alleges that this time the singer used access to drugs in order to continue to “groom, harass and sexually abuse” her over a period of four weeks.
This is not the first time someone has accused Marilyn Manson of alleged assault. In fact, this suit comes just a week after Manson reached a settlement in another sexual assault lawsuit filed by Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco. The goth rock star has also faced claims from former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, among others.
Marilyn Manson and Wood started dating when she was 18 and Manson was 37. Wood similary accused Manson of grooming, mental abuse, and sexual abuse starting when she was a teenager. The musician has since sued Wood for defamation, which has yet to be settled.
The record label Loma Vista Recordings recently dropped Manson from their list of artists. TV series American Gods and Creepshow also decided to part ways from the artist and remove him from future episodes.
The lawsuit also alleges that Interscope Music Publishing and Nothing Records were aware of Marilyn Manson’s conduct and names them as defendants. Manson’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
