Sex Crimes Division Investigating A Musical Legend

By Chris Snellgrove | Published

Right now, the world is still rocking from Diddy’s arrest and the bombshell allegations that have been leveled against him. However, another singer’s alleged sexual crimes have rocked us for a much longer time, and now it looks like they have led to a new investigation. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Sex Crimes Division is reviewing new evidence against Bryan Warner (better known as Marilyn Manson).

Marilyn Manson Allegations

The singer has always peddled in shock, but far more shocking than his lyrics are the claims made by his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood.

She alleged that Marilyn Manson abused her from 2007 to 2010, back when the two were still in a relationship. Now, the Los Angeles District Attorney has confirmed that he and his people are pursuing new leads related to the musician’s earlier legal drama.

Evan Rachel Wood Spoke Out

Following Wood’s original accusations against Marilyn Manson, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed in 2021 that they were investigating the singer. Wood’s allegations had opened a floodgate, and over a dozen women came forward to accuse Manson of horrific behavior such as sexual abuse, sexual misconduct, and domestic violence.

This put him on law enforcement’s radar, and not for the first time.

Sexual Assault Accusations

Back in 2018, Marilyn Manson was accused of sexually assaulting someone in 2011, and the authorities were made aware of this accusation.

The result is that the musician was investigated, but the District Attorney ultimately decided against charging him due to the lack of evidence. The 2021 investigation similarly brought no charges, but the DA’s recent statement has raised questions about whether that is now about to change.

New Evidence

According to the DA, “New evidence has emerged within the last few weeks,  adding to an already extensive case file presented to our office by the LASD.”

He confirmed that some of his senior staffers and prosecutors had been meeting with Marilyn Manson’s alleged victims as part of their investigation. Furthermore, he discussed how he wouldn’t be able to accommodate some of the victims’ requests for a personal meeting because doing so while deciding whether to charge the musician “would be inappropriate.”

Both Marilyn Manson’s biggest fans and his worst haters are eager to know whether he will be charged with any crimes, and they won’t have to wait very long to find out.

Marilyn Manson Dropped

The District Attorney confirmed that “we anticipate making a filing decision soon.” Regardless of that particular decision, though, it’s clear that the allegations against Manson have had a severe effect on his career.

Once news of all the allegations against Marilyn Manson became public knowledge in 2021, he was swiftly dropped by his manager, his record label, and his talent agency. He lost roles on TV shows like American Gods and Creepshow and faced a number of civil suits. These suits have resulted in Manson settling out of court with five different women.

No Marilyn Manson Comeback

Marilyn Manson tried to revive his musical career in August of this year, giving his first live concert since way back in 2019 and releasing some new singles.

However, the recent arrest of Diddy has the public ready and willing to take guesses about which of their favorite performers are sex pests or not.

So regardless of the ultimate legal outcome, this latest investigation into Manson might destroy his comeback right as it is getting started.
