Leonardo DiCaprio Under Fire After Diddy Video Surfaces
In the wake of the shocking arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs on sex-trafficking charges, several high-profile celebrities have now come under fire for their past association with the much-maligned music mogul. One of those celebrities currently facing enhanced scrutiny is Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who had become a staple at Diddy’s famous and possibly criminal parties.
In a recently unearthed video that has resurfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter, Diddy can be seen heaping praise on Leonardo DiCaprio when describing an invitation list to one of his upcoming “white parties.”
In the undated video, Diddy can be seen being interviewed on camera by an unseen person while discussing an upcoming party that Diddy will be throwing.
When asked which person would be “number one” on his invitation list, Diddy answered Leonardo DiCaprio, without hesitating or offering up any further explanation. While the video doesn’t feature Leonardo DiCaprio or even implicate the actor in any crime or possible wrongdoing, it has placed him on the increasingly growing list of celebrities regretting their ties to Diddy.
The earliest time that Leonardo DiCaprio can be traced to Diddy is at a “white party” in 1998, in which the pair were photographed together, surrounded by women and bottles of champagne.
Leonardo DiCaprio has been noted to attend several parties thrown by Diddy
Since then, Leonardo DiCaprio has been noted to attend several parties thrown by Diddy, most recently in 2019. The music mogul has been accused of organizing “freak-offs” at various parties of his throughout the years, in which he encouraged participants to engage in highly sexual behavior, all while often being recorded.
For decades, parties thrown by Diddy were regarded as the most in-demand and sought after invitation for Hollywood celebrities, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, or anybody with even a shred of power.
His parties, Leonardo DiCaprio and all, were often described as lavish blowouts that could make any other party look like a Sunday brunch at a retirement home. However, in light of the recent developments into Diddy’s alleged criminal conduct, what was once considered a “can’t miss” social event could now lead to a black cloud hanging over countless celebrities.
On September 16, Diddy was arrested by federal agents at a New York City hotel for crimes that are described as an intentional effort to sexually abuse and exploit women
On September 16, Diddy was arrested by federal agents at a New York City hotel for crimes that are described as an intentional effort to sexually abuse and exploit women, all while using his business empire to commit the crimes.
Diddy was ordered to be held without bail after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The following day, Diddy entered a plea of not guilty in federal court in Manhattan.
Following an attempt to allow Diddy to be released on bail, a New York City judge denied the appeal on September 18. Prosecutors had argued that there was a high risk of Diddy obstructing the case. After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Andrew Carter said there were no conditions that “reduced the risk of witness tampering or obstruction” before denying the appeal.
According to the unsealed indictment, the U.S. Justice Department claims that Diddy abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct. Leonardo DiCaprio is not names in these indictments.
In order to ensure participation from those that he abused, Diddy is also accused of obtaining and distributing narcotics to them, controlling their careers, leveraging his financial support and threatening to cut off the same, and using intimidation and violence.
As of September 23, Leonardo DiCaprio has not been accused of participating in any of the Diddy’s alleged crimes, nor has been sought for questioning by the authorities. It is still unclear if any Diddy party that Leonardo DiCaprio attended contained any of the criminal behavior described in the indictment.
