Like most of Hollywood’s best, Kristen Stewart attended the Critics Choice Awards over the weekend and the Twilight actress wasn’t alone. Stewart and her fiancée Dylan Meyer made their red carpet debut together. The pair wore coordinating outfits and pretty much owned the event.
Kristen Stewart attended this weekend’s event not just as a celebrity, but as a nominee. The actress was nominated for Best Actress for her performance as the late Princess Diana in Spencer. The award went instead to Jessica Chastain for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, but Stewart and her soon-to-be wife Dylan Meyer stole the red carpet from everyone else. You can see just a few of the posts that showed up all over social media featuring the couple below.
As noted by People, Kristen Stewart wore a champagne Dolce & Gabbana gown while Meyer sported a white suit with a top showing off her midriff. Fans were quick to share and reshare images of the couple. Particularly popular was a photo in which Meyer gazes lovingly at her fiancée across a table.
Kristen Stewart announced her engagement to Meyer last November on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show (via E! Online). It was apparently Meyer who made the proposal, and it also doesn’t sound like it was much of a surprise when it happened. Stewart told Stern & co., “I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it. We’re marrying, it’s happening.”
Professionally, Dylan Meyer is what Kristen Stewart called a “genuinely brilliant f—ing screenwriter” while talking to Vanity Fair last month. Her credits include the campy sci-fi series Miss 2059, the Amy Poehler directed dramedy Moxie, and the 2016 drama XOXO. Without revealing any details about the project, Stewart said the pair are collaborating on an upcoming TV show that Stewart will be starring in. She said working together, the couple wrote the first episode in a week and a half. Stewart said it was “like we discovered a superbrain.” Still, the actress added she’s a little unsure about collaborating too much with Meyer professionally. “You don’t want that to affect this beautiful relationship you have,” she said.
Rather than her fiancée, for her next film Kristen Stewart is collaborating with David Cronenberg, one of the originators of body horror. Named Crimes of the Future, few details are known about the project, though last year Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings) — who will star as the lead — told GQ to expect Cronenberg to be going “back to his origins.” Along with Stewart and Mortensen, the film will star Léa Seydoux (Spectre), Scott Speedman (Underworld), and more.
While Kristen Stewart didn’t wind up taking the Critics Choice Award home for her role in Spencer, the Oscars are just down the road. Stewart landed her first Oscar nomination for Spencer. She’ll be facing many of same actresses in competition for the trophy, including Chastain, with the addition of Penélope Cruz, who is nominated for Parallel Mothers.
