Kevin Costner Is Trying To Evict His Estranged Wife?
It's reported that Kevin Costner is asking his wife and three children to evacuate the couple's home per the prenuptial agreement.
Divorce is never pretty, especially for Hollywood stars, but Kevin Costner’s divorce from his long-time wife Christine Baumgartner is getting ugly. As the two are trying to navigate this difficult journey, Kevin Costner is demanding that his ex-wife and their three children all leave the house where the children grew up, according to New York Post. This comes just six weeks after Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce from her husband on May 1.
It may seem cruel that Kevin Costner is trying to kick his wife and his own children out of their home, but it is within accordance to their prenuptial agreement. According to the agreement, Christine Baumgartner had 30 days to leave the house after she filed for divorce. However, it seems that she is now refusing to leave, causing Kevin Costner to try and take legal action.
The former model is arguing that her ex-husband should be the one to leave the $145 million house in Santa Barbara, California. After all, it is where the two have raised their three children together.
The reason Christine Baumgartner is refusing to leave seems quite simple: she wants more money from her ex-husband who has a net worth of $250 million. According to the prenuptial agreement, Kevin Costner is set to pay his estranged wife $30,000 per month so that she can live in a rental house, and is even pitching in an extra $10,000 to help with moving costs. This is all in addition to already allegedly paying her $1.2 million.
Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner first met back in 1998 when the actor was filming his classic movie Tin Cup. It wasn’t until years later (after Kevin Costner has separated from his first wife Cindy Silva) that the two bumped into each other at a restaurant and soon after started dating. In 2004 the happy couple got married and then welcomed their three adorable children into the world, Cayden Wyatt, Hayes Logan, and Grace Avery.
While Christine Baumgartner continues running her handbag company, Cat Bag Couture, what’s next for the Yellowstone star? After playing John Dutton for five long and successful seasons of Yellowstone, Kevin Costner will exit the franchise after the series finale. Southern charmer Matthew McConaughey is rumored to be the new star of a Yellowstone spinoff show that is currently in pre-production.
After leaving Yellowstone, Kevin Costner started working on his own western project, a film called Horizon: An American Saga. While there is little known about the plot of the film, we do know it will take place in the old west during pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement, and it will have three sequels. In addition to writing and directing the film, Kevin Costner will also star in it alongside Sam Worthington, Sienna Miller, Luke Wilson and Thomas Haden Church.
Kevin Costner is certainly staying busy as his divorce finalizes, which is hopefully healthy for the actor. Only time will tell if he or his estranged wife will get the 10-acre mansion.
