Keanu Reeves Home Attacked By Ski-Masked Burglars
TMZ reports that Keanu Reeves’ Los Angeles home was raided by a group of ski mask wearing assailants this past Wednesday night. Fortunately, the man behind John Wick wasn’t present during the robbery, in which a firearm was stolen from his residence.
Reviewing Security Footage
At the time of this writing, it isn’t clear if the robbers stole anything else, but detectives are reviewing security camera footage from Reeve’s home, as well as the security footage from neighboring residences.
Authorities were first tipped off by an anonymous concerned citizen early in the evening when they thought they spotted a trespasser on Keanu Reeves‘ property.
No One On The Property
When the cops arrived at the scene, they didn’t find anybody on the property and figured that it was either a false alarm or that the trespasser fled the scene. But they returned shortly after midnight when the alarm sounded.
Though Keanu Reeves wasn’t home at the time, officers confirmed that several men wearing ski masks were caught on camera smashing a window and entering his house.
Nosy Neighbor?
One thing that the cops are currently looking into is the phone call they first received at 7 pm. Though nothing has been confirmed at this point, authorities have reason to be suspicious of the phone call, as it could very well have been made by one of the assailants.
In other words, if the cops received a call about a possible burglary at Keanu Reeves’ house and showed up to a peaceful scene, they’d have reason to believe that it was just a nosy neighbor being paranoid.
Hiding In The Distance?
But this phone call could have been a red herring, according to authorities.
Since cops had already shown up at Keanu Reeves’s house and had seen nothing, they wouldn’t have had a compelling reason to continue surveilling the residence after the false alarm.
Since the cops already checked out the potential crime scene and moved on to other things, the burglars could have been patiently hiding in the distance, waiting for their chance to enter the residence.
Not The First Time
This isn’t the first time that Keanu Reeves has been the victim of a home invasion. In 2014, a woman broke into his house while he was sleeping. Reeves spotted her in his library and was able to talk to her calmly before calling 911 so authorities could apprehend her.
The next day, another woman sneaked past his front gate undetected while he wasn’t home, used his shower, and skinny-dipped in his pool. When the cleaning crew spotted her, they called Keanu Reeves, who wasn’t home at the time, and he called 911 so law enforcement could intervene.
In both cases, the women were taken away so they could be mentally evaluated.
Temporary Restraining Order
More recently, Keanu Reeves was granted a temporary restraining order against Brian Dixon, a man who showed up at his home claiming to be related to the Matrix star.
In this case, Dixon trespassed onto the property several times between November 2022 and January 23. In one instance, Dixon even brought a DNA testing kit that he intended to use on Reeves to prove that they were related.
Hopefully, this will be the last time Keanu Reeves is subject to a home invasion. But given his track record, beefing up his security detail is probably in his best interest.
