Jessica Simpson Is Now A Bikini Model For Kim Kardashian

While some of us might be scrambling to get beach body ready for the summer, Jessica Simpson is already way ahead of the curve. Simpson took to Instagram to show off a neon bikini from Kim Kardashian‘s SKIMS brand, along with some pink high heels from her own Jessica Simpson collection brand. Maybe Simpson was inspired by the recent Barbie movie trailers because she certainly looks like she could fit right in with the rest of the cast:
It’s no surprise that Jessica Simpson can throw together a fashionable Instagram post like it’s nothing, considering she has the most successful celebrity licensing brand in history. Her fashion line has pulled in over $1 billion in revenue since its founding in 2005. Undoubtedly, that keeps Simpson pretty busy since we haven’t seen any new film projects or albums from her for a long time.
However, Jessica Simpson did release a major book in 2020 with her best-selling memoir Open Book. The book sold over 59,000 copies in its first week of release and half a million copies over 14 weeks, with Simpson diving into topics like her marriage and divorce to Nich Lachey, her relationship with singer-songwriter John Mayer, her previous substance dependencies, the sexual abuse she was subjected to as a child, and her body image issues. Simpson also released several songs alongside the book, which was her first release of new music since 2010.
Jessica Simpson’s Open Book memoir was so successful that it’s now being made into a TV series for Freevee. The series will have the same title as the book and follow Katelyn Tarver as Sadie Sparrow, a pop star in her mid-20s who goes on a coming-of-age journey from musician to mogul. The series is being billed as a comedy and will explore Sadie’s relationships, career, and her journey to embracing herself.
Along with Katelyn Tarver, Open Book will also star John Stamos as Butch Thorn, a divorced former singer-songwriter struggling with alcoholism and other self-destructive habits. Thorn becomes attracted to Sadie only to find out she’s the pop star that he’ll be writing songs for. Jessica Simpson is executive producing the series along with Adam Bernstein, Patrick Moran, Lauren Auslander, and Lacy Lynch.
Open Book will be written for TV by Tom Kapinos (Californication, Lucifer) who is also executive producing. Adam Berstein is also on board to direct the pilot episode. There’s no word yet on when we can expect to see this upcoming series, but it will be part o the multimedia rights deal that Simpson signed with Amazon in 2020.
Open Book is only the second series that Simpson has an executive producer role for, with the first being her 2010 series Jessica Simpson: The Price of Beauty. It will be interesting to see how this series draws elements from Simpson’s real life and her memoir when it’s released. While we wait for that show, we’ll just have to stick to Simpson’s Instagram to see what she’ll get up to next.
