See Jessica Chastain Squeezing Into A Plunging Neckline
Jessica Chastain looked fantastic at the Oscars in Gucci.
Like many other A-list stars, Jessica Chastain recently attended the 95th Academy Awards ceremony, showing up in the kind of classic Hollywood style she has become known for. The X-Men star (as well as her photographer Greg Williams) posted images of her Oscar look to Instagram, and even for her, it is pretty astonishingly gorgeous. Jessica Chastain wore a sparkling silver gown with a daringly plunging V-cut neckline that showed off more of her skin than we are generally accustomed to.
In the pictures shared by Greg Williams on social media, Jessica Chastain poses in a stunning Gucci gown, first in a dreamily gazing image that looks straight out of the Golden Age of Hollywood. As the Oscar-winner looks off into the distance, the camera highlights her dark red lips (courtesy of makeup artist Kristofer Buckle), while her famously auburn hair tumbles over one shoulder, styled by Elizabeth Stewart.
The following photo sees Jessica Chastain posing in more of a coquette-ish, Jessica Rabbit-like stance with cocked shoulders and hips, while the third has her leaning against the hallway of what looks like quite a ritzy hotel. Although the darkness of the hall hides it Jessica Chastain’s dress also includes a long black train that just accentuates the brilliance of the Gucci design; the actress’s outfit was finished with an elaborate diamond wreath necklace studded with teardrop emeralds.
In addition to the photos, Jessica Chastain also posted a video of herself being attended by the many stylists and artists it takes to complete a look as glamorous as this and then being photographed on the Oscars red carpet. During the actual ceremony, Jessica Chastain partnered with fellow world-class beauty to present the Award for Best Actress, which went to Michelle Yeoh in a historical win for the acclaimed science fiction film Everything Everywhere All at Once. The film won a total of seven Oscars for the night, including Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Director, and the all-important Best Picture.
Interestingly, Jessica Chastain (who won Best Actress for 2021’s The Eyes of Tammy Faye) and Halle Berry (who won for 2001’s Monster’s Ball) were reportedly replacements for Will Smith. While not exclusively, the Academy Award for Best Actress is traditionally presented by the previous year’s recipient of Best Actor (and vice versa); however, last year’s winner Will Smith’s now notorious slap of host Chris Rock resulted in his resignation from the Academy and being barred from attending events. It was an unprecedented situation for everyone concerned, but it is fortunate that Chastain and Berry stepped up to the plate.
Most recently, Jessica Chastain starred in the Showtime miniseries George & Tammy with Michael Shannon, starring as legendary country singers and sometime spouses George Jones and Tammy Wynette. This was the second biographical Tammy role in the last few years, with her Oscar-winning The Eyes of Tammy Faye seeing her portray controversial televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker alongside Andrew Garfield’s Jim Bakker. Chastain also recently starred in a remake of the 1973 Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage, alongside future Frankenstein actor Oscar Isaac.
