Does she ever need makeup?

Jennifer Lopez wants everyone to know exactly how she rises to meet the day. The powerhouse of a celebrity who wears more hats than a hat rack — singer, dancer, business owner, actress, etc. — posted a video recently with which she hopes to inspire her followers. And it probably doesn’t hurt her bottom line that she’s promoting her JLo Beauty products.
JLo posted the video to her official Instagram account on Wednesday, featuring the superstar makeup free in front of the mirror. Before doing anything, Jennifer Lopez reads from a daily affirmation card. In particular she chooses a quote from the late disability rights advocate Helen Keller. She applies a vitamin serum to her skin, explaining that she uses it morning and night. Later she applies sunscreen, saying that using it was a habit she started when she was a child, even growing up in New York, regardless of whether or not it was sunny. You can watch the video below.
This is far from the first time Jennifer Lopez has smartly used her social media presence to help push her JLo Beauty line of products. For example, last September she shared a video to show her post-workout makeup routine. In a pretty revealing outfit, the Marry Me star showed exactly how she prepped herself after what we can only imagine are intense and demanding workouts. You can see that video below.
The star has a lot of projects coming up where fans will get to witness exactly how her skincare and workout routines help her still stunning presence on screen. Originally scheduled to hit theaters at the end of June, the action rom-com Shotgun Wedding will now instead release on Amazon Prime Video this year, though a solid date hasn’t been finalized. Jennifer Lopez stars opposite Josh Duhamel (Transformers) as a bride and groom at a destination wedding that is taken hostage. Armie Hammer was originally cast as Lopez’s groom, but he left the project after abuse allegations arose about the star.
While Jennifer Lopez was in two rom-coms in a row this year — the other being Marry Me, with co-star Owen Wilson — after Shotgun Wedding JLo’s film roles are taking a decidedly darker turn. Coming out sometime this year is the Netflix action thriller The Mother, in which Lopez will play an assassin. There’s no release date yet, but at some point after The Mother will come the dystopian sci-fi thriller Atlas — also from Netflix — in which (via Deadline) JLo will star as a woman fighting an AI who thinks the only way to end war is to destroy humanity (so, basically JLo is remaking Avengers: Age of Ultron?). The film will be directed by frequent Dwayne Johnson collaborator, Brad Peyton (Rampage).
And then things get darker still. As Entertainment Weekly reported in 2020, Jennifer Lopez will soon be playing real life drug lord Griselda Blanco in The Godmother. The biopic will be directed by Reed Morano (The Handmaid’s Tale). At the time, William Monahan (The Departed) was in talks to rewrite a script completed by Regina Corrado (Sons of Anarchy) and Terence Winter (The Sopranos). That was two years ago however, and IMDb does not currently list Monahan as being attached to the project, but the site is not always the most dependable source of info.
