Jason Momoa Just Survived A Terrifying Accident
That was a close one.
Jason Momoa was recently in a head-on collision with a motorcyclist in Los Angeles. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident. Momoa was driving his Oldsmobile when the motorcyclist crossed into his lane, hitting the front left side of Momoa’s vehicle and rolling over the windshield. The motorcyclist only suffered minor injuries and Momoa walked away unscathed. Reports say there have been no charges filed over the incident.
It’s definitely a good thing that Jason Momoa doesn’t have any injuries because, as always, Momoa is busy with big action roles that undoubtedly require him to be physical. While he’s done filming Fast X and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Momoa is rumored to be appearing in the reboot of the 1993 film Cliffhanger. If Momoa is playing a rock climber, he’s definitely going to need to be as fit as possible.
It won’t be long until fans can see Jason Momoa in his next movie. His film, Slumberland, is set to come out on Netflix sometime in 2022. Momoa will be playing a half-man, half-monster named Flip in a movie about a young girl discovering a secret map to the dreamworld of Slumberland. Flip and the girl team up in search of her late father. In addition to Momoa, the movie stars Marlow Barkley, Kyle Chandler, Chris O’Dowd, India de Beaufort, Humberly González, and Weruche Opia.
Elsewhere, Jason Momoa has a passion project that he executive produced and came up with the story for, with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett penning the script. The western The Last Manhunt was recently picked up by Saban Films and tells the true story of a young Native American man named Willie Boy who accidentally kills his girlfriend, Carlota’s father. The two go on the run which leads to a manhunt. The predominantly Native American cast consists of Martin Sensmeier, Mainei Kinimaka, Zahn McClarnon, Lily Gladstone, Raoul Max Trujillo, Brandon Oakes, and Tantoo Cardinal. Christian Carmago directs the project.
Of course, Jason Momoa also has two absolutely massive blockbusters on the way in the form of Fast X and Aquaman and the Last Kingdom. Momoa will be playing very different roles in these two films, as he was cast as the villain in Fast X and is obviously the titular hero in Aquaman. Fast X also stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, Cardi B, Daniela Melchior, Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, and Rita Moreno. Louis Leterrier is on board to direct after Justin Lin left the project over creative differences. Lin remained on as a producer. Fast X is scheduled for a May 19, 2023 release date.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom might be one of the most anticipated projects Jason Momoa has on his release schedule. The sequel to Aquaman is keeping the plot under wraps at the moment. James Wan is returning to direct, with a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The film will also star Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Randall Park, Indya Moore, Jani Zhao, and more. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set for a March 17, 2023 release.
