One month after it was first reported that Jamie Foxx had been hospitalized with an unknown medical complication, the Django Unchained star’s daughter Corinne Foxx has weighed in on his condition. According to a write-up in The Daily Beast, not only is Foxx home feeling much better, but he is active and playing pickleball. Corinne Fox lamented the media for running wild with the sensationalized story of Foxx’s medical complication, though no public statement has been made by the Spider-Man: No Way Home actor about his condition at this time.

Just days ago, it had been reported through numerous online sources that Jamie Foxx was in dire straits at the hospital, with quotes suggesting his family was preparing for a worst-case scenario, health-wise. According to his daughter, that information seems to be false, as she claimed during a recent Instagram story that Foxx had been out of the hospital for several weeks. This is in keeping with information shared to the public by Nick Cannon as of April 24th, stating that Foxx was both awake and alert.

Of course, awake and alert is a far cry from dominating the pickleball court, so the true nature of Jamie Foxx’s condition remains largely unknown to the public. What we do know for sure is that Foxx’s health concerns have impacted shooting schedules for both Beat Shazam, the interactive game show hosted by the musician turned actor, as well as Back in Action, a Netflix original movie that halted production back in April due to Foxx’s absence. While Nick Cannon has signed on to substitute hosting duties for Beat Shazam in Jamie Foxx’s stead, entire scenes had to be cut from the final product of Back in Action due to the delay in production.

There’s no word yet on whether or not this mystery illness will impact any of Jamie Foxx’s other films, of which he is scheduled to appear in a staggering 11 projects, according to IMDb. Several of the slated appearances are already listed as being in post-production, including Strays with Will Ferrell, They Cloned Tyrone with John Boyega, and the Nick Cassavetes-directed God is a Bullet, while other projects such as the David Ayer-helmed The Wild Bunch remake and Groove Tails with Dave Bautista are still in the early stages of development. Jamie Foxx is also set to portray Mike Tyson in the upcoming TV mini series simply titled Tyson.

It’s still not entirely clear if Nick Cannon will be taking over hosting duties for Jamie Foxx on the upcoming sixth season of Beat Shazam, though each of the esteemed entertainers clearly have a lot on their respective plates. Regardless of the most up-to-date media narratives, the most important thing is that Jamie Foxx is home and resting until he is prepared to retake the stage for his next project. Corrine Foxx concluded her public statement by teasing that some exciting announcement would follow in the weeks to come, hopefully signaling that her father is back to full health.
